- Comment on The Witcher IV revealed with Ciri as the protagonist 1 week ago:
Typical girlboss character. In the books all she did was bake cookies for Geralt and now she has a sword of course.
- Comment on Intruder 1 week ago:
Yeah that’s exactly what I said. Well done.
- Comment on When leftists say "landlord are parasites" or similar dislike of landlords, do they also mean the people that own like a couple of houses as an investment, or only the big landlords? 1 week ago:
How did people live before Capitalism? I’ve read that housing existed before even banking was invented. Somehow there wasn’t a housing crisis back then, until/unless we had exploitation.
In self-built primitive mud shacks under a very low population density.

I mean that’s pretty much what’s going on right now under democracy. Lies and propaganda rule the roost leading to rampant marginalization of minorities not to mention turning the government into a straight kleptocracy. With the experts in charge at least you have a chance they kind of understand what they’re doing.
- Comment on Intruder 2 weeks ago:
Agreed, you break the law you forfeit your life.
- Comment on The Video Game History Foundation is “not done fighting” after US Copyright Office refuses exemption to aid preservation 1 month ago:
Don’t worry, we’re going to preserve these games anyway. Copyright means absolutely nothing in the digital age.
- Comment on A decline in arable land 2 months ago:
Also overly intensive farming, especially cattle farming, is destroying the little bit of nature we have.
- Comment on Should you trust that doctor? 2 months ago:
6 years of evil medical school doesn’t qualify as professional credentials? Also I’d put Dr. Phil below most of these guys, although maybe slightly above Hannibal Lector still.
- Comment on Horrors We've Unleashed 2 months ago:
Yeah agreed, all life is sacred except the ones we don’t like.
- Comment on Is linux actually gaming ready or is it just not for me? 3 months ago:
Shutup still works but I wouldn’t trust it to prevent all telemetry. I wouldn’t trust Microsoft not to have other telemetry that’s not part of their services that can be turned off.
- Comment on Is linux actually gaming ready or is it just not for me? 3 months ago:
Unlikely. It won’t run optimally but it shouldn’t be the cause of crashes or bugs. If you’re not sure you can run a ram test (memtest.org)
- Comment on Does AAAA just mean awful triple A games now? 3 months ago:
I looked at an “AAA” game maybe twice in give or take the last decade and both times have regretted it. Indy games are the bomb.
- Comment on Einstein (by Netflix) 5 months ago:
Man if you’re going to be a stupid racist at least try to make it funny. Black = KFC is just about the laziest stupidest “joke” and the bar for racists jokes is already pretty gd low

Some company decided to change their logo because it looks dated and might give the wrong impression. How is this even an issue?

Greeted with? So before anyone saw the movie? Seems a bit silly.

Man I need a replay of the whole series. Thanks for the reminder <3
- Comment on How come liberals dont hate conservatives the way conservatives hate liberals 7 months ago:
I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, except maybe we should switch to show not tell. I understand that it’s not as easy as that but over the last let’s say 30 years, how much has the left really improved life for the rural population? And by comparison how much do we preach to them that they’re backwards and their world view is invalid?
It’s exactly as you say, the working class should be an easy win for us on policy, but it hasn’t turned out that way.
You can just say “well they’re stupid that’s what you get” or you can ask yourself why aren’t we getting these people on board while some greasy billionaire can?
- Comment on How come liberals dont hate conservatives the way conservatives hate liberals 7 months ago:
Not to the racism and idiocy but to the underlying issues that fuel that anger.
- Comment on China’s Electric Cars Keep Improving, a Worry for Rivals Elsewhere 7 months ago:
I don’t think capitalism says “You have to be super thrilled when your competitor produces a better product”. Being worried about your competitors is what causes drive and competition.
I swear Lemmy will bend over backwards twice over to be able to scream “checkmate capitalists” at the most meaningless headline. And this is coming from a fairly hard core socialist.
- Comment on What do you do with your time after leaving Reddit? 8 months ago:
If they really are micro breaks, as in a few minutes, try doing nothing. Just being alone with your thoughts a few times per day is good for you. We’re not made to have our attention grabbed by media 24/7.
- Comment on fossil fuels 8 months ago:
I mean I could see there might be clever optimizations, ways to handle wind power or even some kind of tidal/wave harnessing. But it definitely won’t be the way Columbus did it.
- Comment on fossil fuels 8 months ago:
Yeah just build a wooden frigate that can handle 100 megatons of containers, simple.

- Comment on The Fallout TV show gave the Fallout games a huge player bump, as everyone remembers they like Fallout 8 months ago:
I was very pleasantly surprised. The characters were likeable, the setting very well done and it mostly struck a good balance between the silliness of the FO universe and still staying more or less believable. Loved Matt Berry’s cameo especially.
The ending was a bit predictable and melodramatic which felt like it went against the grain of the rest of the show, but overall really well done. Looking forward to season 2.
- Comment on “Untitled Star Trek Origin Story” film officially added to Paramount Pictures' 2025-2026 lineup. 8 months ago:
They will never make another thoughtful, dialog heavy, diplomacy and reason focused Star Trek series. The mass audience won’t go to see it if there aren’t lots of explosions and personal drama and that’s the audience they want.
- Comment on Bethesda update Fallout 4 for your "next-generation PC" 8 months ago:
I honestly don’t know why anyone would play Bethesda games in 2024. Every time I get the urge I watch a bit on YT and I’m reminded of the horribly stale gameplay (which honestly started turning stale already 10 years ago) and terrible writing and I’m done.
- Comment on $70 titles are doomed to go “the way of the dodo” says Saber Interactive CEO 8 months ago:
You can’t predict the value of a new, creative, interesting title. You can predict the value of a well-known franchise, standard, tried-and-true release. But they may have overestimated the value slightly when they upped standard pricing to $70, time will tell.

Not to interrupt your hate parade against the wealthy, fully on board with that, but most store owners also absolutely hate homeless people around their stores. For somewhat understandable reasons but still.
- Comment on [deleted] 8 months ago:
The real question is how is it our business? If it makes them happy, great. And even if they did end up regretting it later, it’s not our place to judge, especially as strangers.
