Yep, and that’s still true even when he’s made to face the consequences of his actions. We expect so very little of him that we let him get away with pretty much anything as long as he loves his family.
Hot damn if that’s not the picture of straight-white-male-between-18-and-50-years-old privilege.

True! And those people vote.

For me it depends entirely on 1) which hobby and 2) how the mainstream audience shapes it; if investors believe they can make more money by promoting certain aspects of the hobby, they can change it’s entire landscape. And that’s not even getting into what can happen when IP law gets involved.
It’s a shitty tradeoff to have to make, because sometimes I just want to everyone to enjoy what I enjoy. I’ve also seen hobbies die from too much exposure.

The divinity games definitely felt inspired by DND. I’ve even been able to convince friends (including some who don’t play video games at all) to pick it up because of how similar it feels to tabletop. Larian was a natural choice for BG3 and I’m convinced that was part of the vision with their early work

One of the games I play on my commute is imagining what the bike route would be like. I looked it up once and every path included a high traffic street with no sidewalk; where I live, that’s straight up flirting with death. Cycling in my area requires a large group and/or limited capacity for risk assessment.
- Comment on The Downfall of Amazon: Dangerous Products, Fake Reviews & Vanishing Brands - Louis Rossman 10 months ago:
Nah, my search results look this like this. Even when I search for a specific brand, very rarely does that make it to the top of the list. Far more often than not, I have to go digging for what I want. It sounds like you have a different experience of Amazon and I honestly envy it. It used to be great
