Bullshit

Strangers on the internet are not qualified to answer deeply complex questions like this despite what they might think.
Foreign affairs is something that people dedicate their lives to studying and understanding. I seriously doubt those experts are here answering this question.

I’m sorry but this is actually a stupid question. Not only can nobody here answer it but it’s obviously flame bait.
- Comment on When investing your money, what is considered a good rate of return? 7 months ago:
It depends on the risk involved. The US stock market has returned around 7% annually averaged over a very long period of time. That’s considered the benchmark for investments with significant risk.

You’re asking a question that nobody has an answer to.
- Comment on Why does incest result in birth defects? 10 months ago:
Many families have recessive fucked alleles that cause all kinds of problems. An allele is a variant of a gene. You need two copies of a recessive allele for that gene to be expressed (do something).
Every fucked allele the parents share has a 25% chance of being expressed in the child. The more DNA the parents share the more fucked alleles they share. Usually… sometimes the opposite happens and the number of bad alleles is reduced in the child. Inbreeding can lead to fucked animals and “perfect” ones. Weird stuff.
Now you might be thinking “why do families have so many fucked alleles?”
That’s a good question. The thing about carrying a single recessive, fucked allele is that it doesn’t do anything to you. Mutations happen all the time and so these alleles are floating around and multiplying constantly.
It’s only a problem on the odd chance that they get expressed which is most often when family members produce offspring.
So it’s worth noting that this is the type of thing that we can check for these days. In some cultures it’s acceptable to marry a cousin and I’ve heard that they check for any genetic issues before proceeding when they live in a first world country.

Those “updates” are pitiful. As far as I understand the vast majority of update content is still being supplied by the community. The game is still flooded by hackers with no word on when that will ever be addressed if ever.

Is it right to push more gambling based micro transactions in a game that lacks actual support?
If this were any other company people would be raging
- Comment on Valve issues DMCA takedown for "Team Fortress: Source 2" 11 months ago:
If they don’t want to support it that’s fine but they should stop releasing new micro transactions then

Interesting, I’ve had the total opposite experience. GPT-4 is reasonable more often than not. I don’t find the “it’s sometimes wrong” argument very compelling because the same is true for 99% of other information sources. I’ve always had to use critical thinking when look for answers online anyway.

You have a brain right? If you ask it for low water pressure shaving tips I think it would be pretty easy to tell if it’s suggesting nonsense.
- Comment on Have you tried Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
I enjoyed it up until the ending. Good experience overall though.
- Comment on When did fish become recognized as brain food? 1 year ago:
I can tell you something vaguely related about fish that’s pretty interesting. In northern parts of the world like Scandinavia there’s not much UV radiation during winter months. Our bodies need UV to produce vitamin D and we can have serious health defects (like rickets) without it.
At some point it was recognized that eating fish, particularly those rich in Vitamin D, made people much healthier. So it was codified into their culture and traditions to eat these healthy fish. Often with preparations that would preserve the fish and its vitamin D content throughout the winter.

Lemmy is not at all an accurate reflection of reality. Nobody in my day to day life is going to argue that communism is far superior to capitalism. That’s part of the problem. Us internet dwellers think this is what real people are like but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
Wait… there’s an extremely true ending?
- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
That’s a good point about Resh’an. I kept expecting him to come back and be like “Sorry I left. This is still our best hope.”
Why do you say the true ending is a slap in the face?
- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
Yeah… I’ll probably end up doing it eventually. It’s just really lame to get hyped for the final fight and be told “go do side quests for a few more hours and then come back.”
- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
The writing definitely feels very amateurish. Which I agree is a mismatch with the otherwise high quality nature of the game.
I like the overall themes though. It was serviceable enough for me.

They need the rom to dump the assets. They can’t legally redistribute those.

These modifications are possible because the game has been decompiled back to modifiable source code. At this point they can add anything to the game with enough dedication.

As others have said if you’re buying a cheap, generic PC you should probably buy it from a recognizable brand or retailer. It’ll be less likely to break and more likely to be covered/fixable.
- Comment on What happened to online computer games? 1 year ago:
Flash was a wholistic platform. You could draw, animate, script, play video, compile, etc within a single comprehensive edtior. HTML5 + JS was only the low level technology. There was no tooling supplied when the transition happened.
There have been some attempts to recreate the Flash ecosystem since then but they haven’t picked up steam.
- Comment on Do Multivitamins actually do anything? 1 year ago:
If you eat a truly balanced diet you’ll have little reason to take a multivitamin. However, many people do not eat well. In those cases a multivitamin can help fill in the gaps. Arguably it would be better to improve your diet but something is better than nothing.
- Comment on Most motorists want noise cameras installed to clamp down on loud cars 1 year ago:
I’m not sure if this a joke. Noise cameras are a real thing. They use an array of microphones to show which parts of an image are emitting sound and at what level.

YouTube is not a news source my friend. A lot of the “experts” you’ll find on there have zero credibility.
