When I apply for jobs now, I paste the job description at the bottom of my resume in 2pt white text
- Comment on What Ticketmaster Doesn't Want You To Know: Concerts Were Cheap For Decades 3 months ago:
This is an interesting perspective, thank you. I definitely learned where Live Nation was getting most of their profits from when the water fountains were hidden on the other side from the food and drink vendors, and wanted $8 for a bottle of water (or $16 for a PBR!)
I do think that part of the Ticketmaster hate is them being the bad guy for the venues or artists with the prices etc, but they can definitely be doing more. My main issue is that venues can either exclusively use Ticketmaster or not at all, and all the hidden fees. Granted, if the artist chooses “all-lin” pricing it includes the fees, but it feels manipulative that I have to mentally add 30% to the price of tickets when I’m looking.

I flew on Porter and their “ad” was just a 30 second thing about how they’re a cool airline. That’s fine, although the real cost is that they make you have a rewards account

I think a better solution would be a progressive property tax that goes up the more properties you own. But since property tax is a local/state tax usually, it would be hard to implement without it just being a new federal tax. Also, she’ll companies etc
- Comment on I ordered my daughter a pizza, something I don't usually do. I got Domino's smallest size with two toppings. I got her cheese sticks and two sauces and tipped the driver 20%. $31.07. 5 months ago:
In the US, delivery drivers are paid below minimum wage, not to mention they’re usually using their own cars, so it is expected to tip them to make up the difference. The flyer was saying that the delivery fee doesn’t directly go to drivers, if it did then the tip would actually be optional.

The only way to order from Dominos is to use coupons, and even them I feel like I always spent more than I intend to. I remember a handful of years ago they were putting flyers on the pizza box saying that the delivery few doesn’t count as a tip. Then what’s the delivery fee for???

My company has a large presence in India and exclusively hires there now as far as I know, but I will concede that the employees from there are very good in general. They’re actual employees though, not contractors. And there are a lot of issues that arise from the language barrier, timezones, management etc

I have the basic $3 one, I just call it my shitposting tax. Longer messages, using emotes in any server and larger files. I use it a lot since my friends haven’t warmed up to Matrix yet, might as well support them while its not total trash

When I have a concert I usually install the app, load the ticket into my mobile wallet, and delete the app
