What’s your point?
- Comment on Can you think of any now? 2 weeks ago:
Yeah I didn’t get taught any of the stuff mentioned for me either.
One thing I did notice that wasn’t mentioned was the tongue map, that I was taught about in the 90’s - you know the one that said that your tongue has different areas for detecting different kinds of tastes - sweet at the front tip, sour at the back, that kind of thing. All bullshit.

Up to GCSE advanced maths, if that means anything to you.

If it’s any consolation, I suck at trigonometry!
- Comment on yin yang 3 weeks ago:
What’s wrong with probability? I found it once of the easier areas to learn, it’s just basic maths with different names.

From yes. Of no.

Nothing at all, but that last line, “When is my turn to have fun?” Is a bit transactional, like there’s an expectation and that’s the problematic part.

Someone once told me that the Chinese word for penguin translated to “business goose” and I cannot tell you how crestfallen I was when I looked it up and found out it wasn’t true.
- Comment on Excel having a stab at dates 3 months ago:
I mean… They’re all kind of arbitrary in their own way, but one could argue that the excel time being invalid is actually useful because it serves as a null value - you know it’s incorrect, whereas on the other systems it could be the default date or it could be the actual date.

- Comment on DOOM: The Dark Ages Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 1 Million Copies 4 months ago:
It doesn’t really matter if people stick around to play a single game, they’ll almost certainly explore other games and stick around for the service. That’s the idea I think they’re going for.
I’d be curious to see how many CoD players stuck around.
- Comment on DOOM: The Dark Ages Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 1 Million Copies 4 months ago:
Game pass is a big success for them as far as anyone can tell.
- Comment on My password is not accepted because it is too long 4 months ago:
You have described all of the guidelines that NIST, Microsoft, GCHQ and a few other institutions now recommend for password security.
And yet I still have to have this argument with so-called security engineers and my favourite, compliance officers.
- Comment on The System Shock 2 remaster comes out June 26th 6 months ago:
Bioshock was a cut down version of the “shock” gameplay - no inventory management, much more linear path, etc.
I remember at the time people complained that it was “dumbed down for console”.
I still enjoyed it though, but I can see why veterans of the genre would feel things are missing or fall short while newcomers would be blown away.

Sea urchins? We have those on land, too, they’re called land sea urchins.

Only if that channel was private. You don’t have to join a channel to be able to read its contents.

- Comment on Following the Switch 2 Reveal, Phil Spencer Says Microsoft Is 'Really Looking Forward' to Supporting Nintendo With Xbox Games 8 months ago:
Why are you excited at the prospect of less competition in the gaming space?
You don’t have to like Microsoft at all, don’t buy their stuff, but they’re still a major competitor to Sony, Nintendo and Valve - and losing them would do more harm than good. Losing any of them would.

- Comment on KFC drops pledge to stop using ‘Frankenchickens’ in the UK 10 months ago:
KFC’s reasoning is that the chicken supply industry hasn’t transitioned to more humanitarian chickens yet, but frustratingly the article doesn’t validate this claim.
It KFC is correct and they’re reliant on an industry that hasn’t got the supply it needs, then it’s impossible for them to meet the targets they set and it makes sense they would have to walk back the pledge.
However if the industry does have that supply, then KFC is full of shit.
So which is it?

agreement or harmony between people or groups.
Everyone did in fact agree not to play the game.
- Comment on Steven Spielberg is ‘a big PC Gamer’ — loves shooters, and insists on keyboard and mouse 1 year ago:
Yup I’m with you here. I love KBM and it’s my preferred way to play for most games, but when it comes to driving I’d much prefer a controller with analogue triggers and a stick (unless it’s a sim racer, in which case a wheel of course) for that extra precision.
Unfortunately I can’t think of a good design to give that level of control to just one hand. Analogue keys are a thing but they sound awful, nowhere near enough precision due to the short travel of them.
