I am just going to have to disagree with you, conflating the idea risk with the things you’re associating it is not appropriate in my eyes. But we can leave it there at this point.
- Comment on 6 days ago:
That is still explicitly a risk that they at taking. That risk doesn’t conflate to bravery, innovation, or a good idea. It is still a risk they take because either their new service flops and they write it off, or their new service makes crazy amounts of money.

Tell that to every publisher constantly flipping a coin on Live Services that are expensive, risky, likely to fail/underperform… but could make them oodles of revenue.

As ever, even if they make acceptable profit… they’ll never make obscene profit. So betting on a high risk, extremely high reward product will always been more attractive.

My friend’s dog was traumatised because his wife opened a moisturiser tube too loudly. Watch any dog for any extended period of time and then armchair diagnose its trauma.

I don’t particular agree with their conflict of interest comment on the quote, no. I guess it could be said that interviewing individuals that you have a personal relationship with could be a conflict around expectations of unbiased article writing, but this isn’t exactly the New York Times.

Not so much a conflict, but “my friend says his software is amazing” comes of as something of a fluff piece.
I imagine he would, yep.

As per design, the UK is now undesirable for people to come to or stay in. We are putting enough dog shit on our own front lawn to stop people approaching the house. Got 'em.

I don’t fundamentally have a problem with this personally, but it’s one more nail in the coffin full of nails that is the labour party. Their timing is impeccable, as ever.
Obesity is destroying the NHS, and not for the sake of your freedom but for the sake of keeping people addicted to product.

Most AI companies will die quite dramatically, but the big players will weather the storm and soak up all the rewards that come from monopolising on such technology. The ultimate product can turn to slop if you’re the only game in town.

Yeah… victory belonging to the person with the widest reach and deepest pockets rather than the originator of the material/idea is one way to ensure that all creatives become paupers. This is one of those many on-paper ideas that, without the upheaval of pretty much every other established human social structure, would be awful in practice.
