- Comment on If I got in a collision with a car from the 70s with a car today, would not the 70s car win out since it would primarily be metal? If so why don't people buy more 70's cars? 1 week ago:
The car might sustain less damage, however, the occupant will receive more damage. People buy newer, safer cars, presumably because they like being alive and would prefer to keep doing that.
Modern cars are designed to break before their drivers do, because you can’t replace you, but you can buy a new car.
- Comment on Does the engine a game uses factor into your decision to buy it or not? 2 weeks ago:
It can if the engine makes the game run poorly (I wouldn’t buy it) or not at all or if the engine is exceptionally well regarded and runs great it might make me a bit more inclined to buy the game.
If it’s an engine famous for being janky, it might also make me delay buying the game until devs or modders fix it.
Also, if the engine is known for being mod friendly, that would probably make me more inclined to consider buying the game.
- Comment on What would/could the US government actually do if they found out the real identities behind all the "guillotine memes" that people post online? 2 weeks ago:
You say that, but all of their bullshit cases are constantly crashing and burning due to their own incompetence. Even when stuff makes it to a jury, their cases tend to fair poorly most of the time.

Yeah, that was my first thought lol

Yeah, if they choose to do legally questionable or outright illegal stuff that needs to be fought and defeated in court or we’re in for some grim times.

Legally? Not a damn thing because it’s protected speech.

He wasn’t, there was no such thing at the time and he refers to himself as a Jew in the bible. Christianity wasn’t named until after his death.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
They most certainly did: What do you think Easter is? Why do you think Christmas is in December when Jesus was not born during the winter? Many native pagan holidays were basically transformed into the modern Christian holidays you know today.

- Comment on Do YOU consider Kanji difficult? 3 weeks ago:
English. I hated learning French and don’t really know it, but I’m going off of what others who do speak French have told me.
- Comment on Do YOU consider Kanji difficult? 3 weeks ago:
Spanish and Portuguese would probably be easier to learn than English, same for French. If you knew German and/or English, Dutch might actually be a little easier than you’d think!
The amount of entertaining media out there definitely works in favor of English though, I have to agree with you there.
- Comment on Do YOU consider Kanji difficult? 3 weeks ago:
You are the first person I’ve heard say English is easy to learn.
- Comment on If you give the fae a false name which others would identify you as, can they still use that false name to control you? 3 weeks ago:
No, because it’s all made up and we live in the real world.

- Comment on Do YOU consider Kanji difficult? 3 weeks ago:
Yes: It seems very complicated.
To counter your argument about English: English is very complicated, reportedly it’s one of the hardest languages to learn because of all the exceptions to rules and the fact that it’s actually a bunch of different languages melded together.

All modern cars are vulnerable, not just EVs. If you wanted something “hackerproof”, get an older vehicle with manual transmission and no infotainment center. No drive or brake by wire.
- Comment on What's the weirdest argument you've gotten into with someone? 4 weeks ago:
I had someone tell me I was full of shit and a coward for suggesting a full face helmet for downhill skating (for reference, DH skating can get you traveling at highway speeds). They were talking about if you wore a helmet, a regular park helmet would be totally fine because they’re designed for skateboarding falls. I tried to explain that park skating and DH are two totally different things, which need different gear and skills, but they just kept doubling down on their crazy bullshit. It was either a troll or an insane person but either way, I regret wasting my time on their bullshit. Hopefully the person we were trying to help just ignored their stupid ass.
- Comment on Do most comedians invite heclers to their shows? And they go over the bit so it seems sporadic? And get them more views or clicks or whatever? Kind of like a magician does with a plant? 4 weeks ago:
I don’t know about most, however, it’s not unheard of to plant a heckler who you’ve rehearse with. Probably not a standard practice, but it’s happened.

A Debian based distro is probably your best bet (Mint is my favorite, but there’s a few options including Ubuntu and of course Debian itself).

I’m not saying it would be practical in your case, but you could definitely carry 6 weeks of groceries on a cargo bike (ebike would be better given the load though). Hell, you might even be able to do that on a regular bike. I can fit at least 60 liters of groceries into my Portola, and that isn’t even including the top rear cargo rack. In an actual cargo bike, you could probably fit like 2+ months of groceries.

4 miles is not very far at all on a bike, 30 isn’t too crazy either. I think people misunderstand just how far you can travel on a bicycle.

Lots of weight and heart disease I bet. On a related note, I rode my bike to work today and it was great.
