100% american public debate lol
- Comment on Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash 1 week ago:
I understand the hatred towards AI, but people gotta understand that there’s a difference between coding with AI and Vibecoding. They are DIFFERENT THINGS! AI is userful, what is not are both vibecoding and shaming a developer with 30 years of real world experience with no AI support for using it for once. Using AI is ok if you do that critically and with common sense
- Comment on Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash 1 week ago:
It is unreliable if unsupervised of course. Microsoft and all those big corpos are vibecoding the whole thing, that is the reason why AI has gotten a bad reputation in the community despite it being objectively useful. Using AI to code ≠ Vibecoding

Im.not against the usage of AI in general. The problem only comes up if the human literally relies on it, but if you are using it for learning, quickly scrolling documentation or make code in a critical manner and with years of normal programming experience, that’s fine. Bro had 30 years of development experience so I guess he knows what good code looks like

Violence comes from insecurity and social unease and suffering. The best way to make things works is shaming men instead of promoting men mental health and gender consciousness. Teaching them that patriarchy is not their fault and that the best way to fix their problems is breaking out of the system itself

You got no idea what you’re talking about
- Comment on Can a reasonable person genuinely believe in ghosts? 3 weeks ago:
People who don’t believe in ghosts just assume that people who believe in them think they are like blankets moving all by themselves like they are in cartoons. That is, of course, not the case. It’s much more complicated than that. Atheists sometimes really fall for the dumbest arguments possible

The only good Monopoly is state driven. Everything else is bullshit

I don’t think anyone would ever bot Lemmy bro. I guess we just gotta trust single instances
- Comment on The college-to-office path is dead: CEO of the world’s biggest recruiter says Gen Z grads need to consider trade and hospitality jobs that don’t even require degrees 2 months ago:
Developers who rely on AI are up to 19% slower than users who don’t use AI because AI needs constant babysitting
- Comment on The college-to-office path is dead: CEO of the world’s biggest recruiter says Gen Z grads need to consider trade and hospitality jobs that don’t even require degrees 2 months ago:
But as a web developer I gotta also point out that usually AIs just can’t work decently within actual codebases of already existing software, and leaving an AI to do all the job usually means having to deal with shitty code that barely works or situations where things look like they’re working but actually isn’t properly. Moreover, even desktop software tends to bloat inevitably. The latest example is the Windows Notepad that takes 30mb just to open an empty .txt file. You also can’t work with AI proficiently with technologies that aren’t widely used

It’s an HP Envy Photo 7100. I go it BRAND NEW for like 75 bucks, and now I see why! I will never get another HP printer in my whole life. When you buy it it grants you 1 year of free tier which only gives you 50 pages a month, and sometimes it’s even buggy and it prints the same page more than once… What a shame, DRM has reached such a high level of consumer disrespect we can’t even do much about it, even because i’ve talked to a few people who actually agree with HP’s choice to block YOUR OWN HARDWARE behind a paywall (of course all rich people)

I bought an HP Printer and now even if you have the ink you literally must subscribe to their service in order to use the ink you’ve bought…
