Thank you. Instant lock and wipe before handing it over to your friendly neighborhood gestapo holding you gun point is just what we need.

I think it’s not feasible to search for anti -trump content and then track down the person, but is much more likely that once they have you they will check your phone to see if you are a dissenter. So any interaction with federal or local authorities will be risky from now on. I just saw a headline of a French scientist being denied entry after immigration searched her phone and found anti Trump messages. If anyone has advice on how to quickly wipe or lockdown a phone, PC, etc. please share. OpSec

- Comment on Are there any games like Starfield? 2 months ago:
Still in early access, and not very pleasant to looking at first glance, but Ostronauts is a start from scratch go anywhere and solve problems space game. On my first play I was pulled over but the cops for salvaging without a license only for the cop to write me a ticket and then start flirting with me. I got his number. Make sure you can cover the cost of the ticket and docking fees before you dock or they won’t let you undock. Flight mechanics are very real and you quickly feel like your piloting a space jalopy. RPG system is great too. You unlock skills that level as you use them and need to repair components as they can break down. Slow development by I think one guy, but a work of love for sure.

- Comment on Is American politics really as seemingly satirical of itself as it is portrayed? 5 months ago:
The thing with American politics is that Americans love, LOVE TV shows and movies. Everything they do publicly has to be framed, presented, and consumed, as if it were a TV show or movie. So that’s what the political machine does. Kamala Harris raised like a $1000000000. A BILLION dollars! What does the political machine do with that much money? It puts on a damn good show and broadcasts it to the world hoping it’s a better show than what Trump is making. So yes you are watching the same show we are. It’s entertaining, horrifying, hilarious, disgusting, sad and hopeful. But if you want to see what the real work is like in politics then you will have to read the book. A LOT of books, and many Americans don’t like to read.

Go to where you first learned how to make friends. Go back to school, take a night class. Found a wife there once.

The first game I ever completed and the first time I left a review for a game. The music, the atmosphere, the design, everything blew away. It was freeware from back in 2006. Made by a guy called Nifflas. It’s a sidescrolling platformer where you are an intelligent bouncing ball. I still think about it to this day.
- Comment on How the fuck do you meet new people? 6 months ago:
Community college. Took a few classes I never would have normally chosen like art or acting. I was a stay at home introvert who was way past college days, so I couldn’t figure out how to put myself into social situations. But I do like to learn, so signed myself up for some night classes. Ended up dating a few people, made new friends, and married one of them. Night classes bring in the adults who have to work during the day, a few kids too, but I met just about every age group from young to very old. Study groups, group projects, anything that will involve working with or helping classmates, or anything that you think is interesting really. Have life long friends now because of that decision.
Go back to where you first learned how to make friends, go back to school.
- Comment on What is this plug on my wall for? 7 months ago:
I showed chatgpt the picture and it was close to what others on here said.
“The image shows a fused spur or a fused connection unit (FCU). This type of electrical outlet is used to protect appliances that are permanently connected to the electrical supply without a standard plug, such as heaters, ovens, or lighting circuits.”
Then I asked what country this is most likely to have this in a home
“The fused spur or fused connection unit (FCU) in the image is most commonly found in homes in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This type of electrical fitting is a standard feature in these countries, where it is used for appliances that need to be hardwired into the electrical system, such as water heaters, ovens, or extractors. It may also be found in other countries that follow British electrical standards, but the UK and Ireland are the most likely.”
I thought that was interesting and wanted to share.

I just learned about enshitefication, worsening of quality to maximize profits. That sounds like what the workplace has become. Capitalism is enshittefying work, or life in general.

- Comment on Why is there no sense of "camaderie" in the workplace? 7 months ago:
Poor leadership. A good leader can set the tone for better or worse. Unfortunately leadership is very rarely taught, so bosses tend fall back on their upbringing. A leader is at the front working harder than everyone else and suffering with their team, a boss is at the back telling everyone to work harder while suffering nothing. A boss who is also a leader is far to rare.
