I can never get my 6 to read my print unless I hold it in my hand exactly right (and even then it’s hit or miss), so the stand or desk thing is irrelevant in my case.

Yep, the pixel 4 was my favorite phone in recent history, largely because of the rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

The US already has that, in the form of various welfare programs (section 8 housing, SNAP food assistance, Medicaid, etc), although the earnings cap on those tend to be well below 60k.
