A single command made me switch back to Google Assistant.
Every now and then, I’ll leave the TV on while I fall asleep and for a few years now, I’ve just asked GA to turn off the specific tv in 2 hours. Whenever I tried to get Gemini to do the same, it would just turn off my tv immediately, no matter how I phrased the prompt.
- Comment on I've noticed a lot of UK job applications use the American MM/DD/YYYY date format and some also say "resume" instead of CV. Does that annoy you if you're British? 1 week ago:
By saying that I didn’t realize it was different in Europe. Often when we (Canada) do something different than the US, it’s because it’s closer to how it’s done in Europe and I assumed this was one of those cases.
I’m planning on looking into this more when I have some free time as I’d like to understand where our approach to both documents came from.

Maybe things are different here in Canada but that’s how I’ve always had it outlined. What you’re describing would be called a resume here and not a CV. The intents of the two documents are not the same.
Most CVs that I’ve seen are usually closer to 3-5 pages but I’ve seen some that are ~10 pages.

Not traditionally. A CV should contain essentially everything whereas the resume is tailored to the specific position.
CVs are much more common for academic positions but I’ve also seen them required for very specialized roles.

They’re definitely not the same thing even though they’ve been used interchangeably more and more.
A CV is a comprehensive overview of everything you’ve accomplished and can be fairly long in certain cases (I’ve seen CVs of specialized professionals or tenured professors that are close to 10 pages long).
On the other hand, a resume is a concise list of your relevant skills and experiences that should be tailored to the position you are applying to and should almost never be longer than 2 pages.

That’s exactly what happened for me. I used to be a mod for a bunch of subreddits (including some fairly popular ones) but I realized I just didn’t really enjoy it anymore. Which is a shame because I’ve started and maintained a lot of communities over the years but being a Reddit mod just killed that for me.

Tom Francis (the dev behind TBW and many other great games) posted videos throughout the dev cycle of the game on his YouTube channel. They’re definitely worth a watch for anyone interested in game design/development.
- Comment on How often do you use the small pocket inside your jeans pocket (if you have it) ? and what for ? 7 months ago:
I used to only use it for random change I’d get on the rare occasion I’d pay for something with cash. Nowadays it’s always filled with dog treats since my dog is nearly always with me.

I’ve been thinking of getting 1 or 2 of those Ikea air filters, how loud are they when they run? Anything you wish you’d known before getting it?

If all your devices are USB-C PD rated then you only need to have cables and wall adapters for your highest rated device as all others will only demand what they can tolerate when the handshake happens after plugging in the cable. The only exception would be devuces that don’t follow the spec but use the plug for cost saving reasons which is a completely seperate issue.

Some of us don’t really have that luxury. For example, I don’t choose who I need to communicate with for work purposes.

I completely agree, I really enjoyed D:OS II but I just haven’t been able to get into BG3 so far. I can’t say anything was bad or poorly accomplished but it’s just not clicking for me yet why everyone claims it’s the greatest game of all time.

Totally agree on that point. I took it more to mean it could be fatal if someone went to refill a jar of vinegar with bleach (or vice versa) since mixing the two creates chlorine gas which can be fatal.

Vinegar can be a very effective cleaning agent though, it’s not just used for food.

- Comment on Is there a title (Mr/Ms/Mrs) that is gender neutral? 1 year ago:
Just fyi, M. in French is only equivalent to Mr, it’s short for Monsieur. Mme (short for Madame) is equivalent to Mrs, and Mlle (short for Mademoiselle) is equivalent to Miss/Ms.
So using M. for everyone is equivalent to saying Mr. for everyone.

“I Guess”

Agreed, definitely excited to see what the revised tech tree does to the initial stage of a playthrough as well. This seems like a great way to make the game feel fresh and change up a player’s approach.
- Comment on bullshit! working from home increases productivity and life quality 1 year ago:
Personally I’m the opposite. I only have so much control over my environment in the office, but at home I’m able to build an environment that’s way more productive for my brain. I’ll still go into the office as required (usually about a day every week or two) but I literally have to plan my workload around those days since I know I’ll be way less productive.
