You wouldn’t be though. It’s 10 hours younger looking (presumably than your actual age, so it doesn’t stack)
- Comment on No brainer 2 days ago:
But you’re not actually losing age in this one, just looking 10 hours younger so it wouldn’t really stack.

I’m thinking that #7 might be useful in certain policing or security positions, depending on the definition of empty (there’s always dust and air).
Got a bunch of containers that need to be inspected? You can cross the ones you can see through off the list.
Also useful for winning the cup-and-ball game
- Comment on what are the grievances with the "male loneliness epidemic"? 1 week ago:
Well, if any caucasianswanna experience a taste of racism/discrimination, just head down to certain areas of Richmond, BC Canada
-
Signage only in Chinese (violates language laws)
-
Restaurants that won’t even acknowledge your presence (if non Chinese)
-
Realtors that won’t show you housing (if non Chinese)
But if course nobody will do anything because to address the issue said seem… racist.
And that’s the funny thing. Because people at the top of the racist pyramid generally share the same skin color, ethnicity and/or pants-contents as you, you get to be grouped in as “the oppressor”. Even if you share a lot more in common with victims of the same system, complaints are met with decision and ignored.
That’s because it’s easier to divide and conquer by skin and gender to hide the real class war that exists.

Ok… well we are discussing the fictive ability to speak with somebody who is dead. I’m assuming that whatever necromancy/chronomancy is involved included some sort of translation.
Hell, if it’s necromancy then the only thing we might get out of poor Leo is a “cerveeeeeeelli” before he lunges across the table :-)

I’d go for Leonardo. The others - while I understand things at a basic level - I’d likely not be able to understand most of their fields.
Maybe Tesla but I’m not sure if the conversation would end up centered around some of the neat science stuff I could grasp or pigeons with laser-eyes …

As far as ones who actually did things there I’m not sure that Hawking would have even been physically capable at a point where he was famous.
- Comment on The average age of Disney princesses is 505y. 1 week ago:
Where did they get the ages from then? It seems to me most Disney movies explicitly don’t mention age in any sort of direct manner
- Comment on The average age of Disney princesses is 505y. 1 week ago:
I’m not sure Alice would even qualify as a Disney Princess, unless there’s some lineage I’m unaware of. She’s already one of the few without some sort of romantic subplot.
Mulan… Aristocracy with a royal award maybe, but not really royalty either.

New product idea. A smart toilet which measures each load for weight, scent output, liquidity, girth, and length (compensating for water volume and pre-TP) before you flush.
Forget competing with friends for Fitbit steps. It’ll be “Suzy had one that required the poo knife, but Bobby’s toilet called 9-1-1 for him so I think he wins”

Fair my ass…

Makes sense.
When I spend a lot of time doing 3D design work I find myself looking at the world afterwards in terms of underlying mathematics, angles and shapes. Like I’ll look at a cabinet and see rectangles and cylindrical cuts that could reproduce it in 3d, or a lamp-post as a circle extruded along a path.
People who are really into rocks probably notice more about that stuff because their brains are hyper-focused on such

That’s horrible but kinda hilarious too. Wondering how the hell they tracked that one down.
“Well this one had bits of corn and bean in it but only Bob had that today for lunch and I’m positive I saw him bolting for the men’s room, so mayyybe…”

I’ve got a cheaper, tap-cold only version (mainly because that’s the easiest to install without running new plumbing or electrical in that particular location). Honestly the cold water isn’t so bad. It can even numb things up if you’ve been dehydrated and launched a particularly stressful cannonball.

So how about when a link is shared on Lemmy or Reddit or FB? Do the latter strip out the identifiers, or does that one person’s reshared post associate them with the clicks of thousands of others?
For web links, they’d also be able to find the source from the referrer tags etc

Yup. I use credit a lot but also pay off my cards every pay period. I get that it sucks for merchants, but you know what sucks worse: getting cheated like this on a debit/cash transaction, or worse having your debit card skimmed.
A relative of mine had the latter and the bank froze her account for weeks while investigating. If it was a credit card they’d just freeze the transaction and maybe send you a replacement card with different #
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
This does seem like an important step. Like yeah, absolutely report this to the vendor but a theft also occurred so at least get a file going. Providing a police file # might have been enough to get them to refund as well

- Comment on why does alcohol stop my back pain but medicine doesn't? 2 months ago:
I think it very much depends on the type of and source of pain.
For me, Tylenol works for headaches and some cold/flu stuff but I’ve never really found it effective for strained muscles etc

Yeah but Nintendo doesn’t always seem to give a shit just because something is legal. They’ll still play the “but our legal department has more money than YOU” card

- Comment on Liquid Trees 3 months ago:
I still want the trees outdoors, but this would be cool for indoor spaces. Each mall or parking lot could have a solar panel overhead and slime-tanks to produce useful byproducts.
Maybe it could be mixed with and aquaculture like fish and sea plants to create cool scenery

- Comment on What's the point in getting married? 4 months ago:
Yeah. My buddy lived with his SO. They had kids together. I believe they did have plans to get married but there were financial/planning considerations. At the time, the house was in his name.
He died unexpectedly and without warning due to a previously unknown medical condition. I don’t believe he had a W&T.
The paperwork she had to deal with - much of which would have been not required had they been married - was horrendous, especially anything bank related. The bank also seemed to be doing their best to fuck her over in regards to the family home. It was a nasty ordeal.
- Comment on For all you inked people 4 months ago:
Yeah, I was thinking the same. It’s basically a visible representation of somebody’s thought process. It may indicate something important to them, something they’re passionate about, or just a point decision without due consideration for consequences.
People get tattoos that are extremely artistic and represent a significant investment in both time and money. Many get tattoos about something they have a passion for. Some to honor deceased loved ones. Some to represent their culture.
Others get a facial tat with prison symbols or to make themselves look like a lizard/devil, which I can only describe as a “look-at-me” tattoo. That may not be the type of personality you want working for you or even to hang out with…
