I would argue that Buddhism is as distinct from Hinduism as an agnostic is from the abrahamic faiths.
This is a great take. Buddhism is more a philosophy of a worldview than a religious worldview.
Buddhism taking on concepts of other religions, even deities, is upaya (skilful means). Its a way draw as many people as possible out of suffering as possible. I seem to remember that’s the whole idea of mahayana Buddhism: getting as many people as possible at least partway towards enlightenment is better than only a few all the way.

I would argue Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism are as distinct as Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
Which are the sects of Buddhism that are so similar to Hinduism? (Curiosity, not attack - i studied Buddhism in depth for my degree, but that was 20 years ago)

- Comment on Has this ever happened to you? 4 months ago:
Agreed. Most of the time the man is expected to do the asking. From my personal, not reflective of the rest of society, experience…when dating if I asked someone out id plan the date and pay. It was usually second date when dating men, or once when I had to cancel on a first date I then asked the person out and arranged the first date.
The only time I ever felt a bit grumpy about paying was when the other person couldn’t decide between two dishes. I told them to order both, and I assumed theyd take their leftovers. They ate a tiny bit of each and didn’t take any home. Thats just wasteful. There was no next date.

If i invite someone out to dinner I pay. If someone invites me out to dinner I expect them to pay. However, I think in general in the US most men and women expect the man to pay.

I never wanted kids. I have one now im 40, and no regrets there, but the fact they’re my biological child is bc my husband really wanted that. I would’ve been fine with adopting.
Consider you meet an amazing woman who really wants kids, and her her you’ll do it, would you be OK with adopting? Or may e she wants to experience pregnancy, would you be ok with a sperms donor? You may find someone you really want to have kids with, in which case you may have to do a reversal. Ask the dr about all the options.
Chances are you won’t change your mind, but you might, life is a funny thing. Have a plan and maybe even write a letter to your future self. What’s your reasoning?
Your body your choice but this is a big decision, so think it through
