That’s what worries me a bit as well. As far as I’m aware, they seem to be pretty safe for now? Nostalrius WoW was a big private server that got shut down by Blizzard, but they were located in the USA. Turtle WoW is based in Europe (UK if what I found is accurate) and has done transformative work to the game, including working on a whole new compatible client in UE5 that should be releasing this year. But the issue still remains that they primarily have Blizzards assets, story, etc as the base of their game. I guess time will tell, I’m hoping it sticks around though.

Depends what you like, but I’m still nostalgic for old school WoW and find myself wanting to play every now and again but don’t want to subscribe for a whole month. My recommendation for that would be Turtle WoW, it’s an expanded vanilla private server that has it’s own launcher and everything so it’s pretty simple to get started with.

Hmmm, no, couldn’t be the climate change we’ve been warned about for decades, it’s the chemicals the pilots are spraying secretly! If people are really dumb enough to eat this up, we’re fucked.

There’s this super dangerous one called H2O, apparently if enough accumulates in the atmosphere it will start to rain!

It’s always been this way with Nintendo, even way back. I did a backlight mod to an original DMG-01 Gameboy yesterday and they used tri-wing screws to secure the case, those things suck and are only used to keep consumers out.

- Comment on Is possible to learn to swim, just by reading a lot about it? 3 weeks ago:
Yeah that egress training is horrible, never done it myself but know a few who have. Starts off relatively easy, until they flip it upside-down and turn off the lights to simulate night. Even the strongest swimmers have trouble.
Also lost a high school friend when they jumped in to save someone struggling in a lake and were pushed under. The person they were trying to rescue survived but they didn’t.

A friend of mine put in a offer on a house a year ago - at their asking price - and got a similar response. Like don’t make that your asking price if you’re going to get angry when people offer that? But I guess all the houses around that area were selling above asking and they probably already had much higher offers, still doesn’t excuse them being a dick.
- Comment on ARMA 3 Recieves Surprise Performance Update 1 month ago:
Heck yeah, I remember building out and optimizing my PC to squeeze every frame I could out of Arma 3 back when it released. I have such fond memories of that game, I played tons of casual multiplayer games and Arma 3 Project Life which was a really well done invite only life roleplay game mode (before the developers killed the community by being dicks).

No, they changed the pack colour for the camping stuff last time this happened. Unfortunately they forgot to change the pack colour for the portable anvil as well…
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 dev calls Randy Pitchford's $80 Borderlands 4 comments "gross" because it implies the FPS is more important than "making it day to day" 2 months ago:
If Ubisoft can convince themselves that Skull and Bones was the first “quadruple A game” and worth $70, then I doubt most studio execs can pull their heads out their ass for long enough to properly ask themselves that. Studios have completely lost touch with what people actually want and are willing to pay.

Hopefully they find a way to apply the fix permanently. I just did 2 RGH3 mods over the weekend which is the easiest hardware mod for the 360 and it was more challenging than I expected.

- Comment on The FAA Has a Big Problem with Mental Health 4 months ago:
It’s not just the FAA, it’s all aviation medicals. I’m a Canadian pilot who hasn’t been able to fly for years due to a ridiculously harsh ruling from our medical board requiring years of tests and thousands of dollars out of pocket if I ever want to have the chance to fly again. All over something my local aviation doctor predicted would take a month or two and I’d be back in the air. I tried to fight it but the review process is a joke and took a year before they even contacted me about my case. By that point I had dropped out of the university where I was doing my training to become a commercial pilot.
The big issue is aviation has zero tolerance for risk. Feeling depressed? Medical revoked. Issues sleeping? Medical revoked. Chest aches? Medical revoked. All it can take sometimes is a small issue. The thing is that, lets be honest, given the choice no-one really wants to get on a plane with a depressed or sleep deprived pilot. It’s added risk, so instead we require our pilots to be the healthiest one can be. But everyone has issues, even if you know it or not. There’s a reason alcohol abuse is so common in aviation. The thing that really needs to get figured out is, what’s the solution here? We either make pilots to continue to hide any health issues they have from their aviation medical doctor and pretend they don’t exist, until one day something horrible but totally preventable happens, or we start addressing the medical issues pilots face and being more lenient on what would take away their medical certificate - but then if something happens as a result the liability is now on the aviation governing body for allowing someone with a known issue to fly. The aviation medical system is fundamentally broken but I have no clue how it can be fixed.

Amphenol connectors. Used a ton in industry, military and aerospace. They are actually really nice when you get down to it, but you need expensive tools and the connectors themselves are usually quite expensive. I once had a client ask for a specific 6 pin one, only about the size of my thumb, it was $800.

Hi, not gay but bi and I spend a lot of time in LGBTQ spaces. I personally have not heard of this meaning anything specific. Chances are that it’s just a quirky / goofy expression that they like. I have a few friends who are not gay where every photo has a similar expression, it’s just something some people do I guess 🤷

Me and a group of friends have a tradition of playing RD:O on thanksgiving. This year we had 6 preople, and after about 2 hours of trying we had to give up. No matter what we did we were unable to find a working server, they all had issues. Couldn’t call horses, weapons wouldn’t equip, some of us weren’t appearing to others, it was a mess. It’s such a charming game and world that’s let down by Rockstar’s servers and not being able to host your own locally. I might try to see about using RedM next year, but that’s extra work I’m not certain people will want to do.
