Recently replayed F.E.A.R. and can confirm. Holy hell the AI is legitimately impressive, especially for the time.
That said, they still storm the same hallway I just threw a mine down in clear view of them. Well… there’s only like 15 mines total in the entire game.
The AI can take you from full health to dead in about 3 seconds on normal difficulty.
The mech suits can single-burst kill you with their attack.
Lastly, that mission where you’re running along the rooftops with the soldiers shooting at you through the windows? Yeah I see that shit in my nightmares. Was too careless and got that checkpoint with no health packs and 35ish HP to my name.

I did like Blood Omen 2, but it’s vastly different from the rest of the series so it may be a bit of a shock to LoK fans.
Amy Hennig wasn’t part if the project, so some of the writing and lines feel out of place, particularly so by characters like ::: spoiler Tap for spoiler Janos Audron and Vorador :::.
IMO the other games in the series performed so well BECAUSE of Amy’s storytelling ability.
The final level has some glitches and the in-engine cutscenes audio isn’t synced with characters mouth animations. I always thought this was a problem with my disc growing up, but recently replayed on emulator and the exact same issue happened.
All that said, as usual with any LoK project, expect absolutely stellar voice acting by Simon Templeman (Kain).

In Japanese, it’s Hai (yes) town, which evidently was the name of the building they spent a lot of time in during development.
I can’t find any real credible source, but some mentions of it going back 4 or 5 years.

Nah outer banks is a killer spot - wife wanted to go and take maternity pictures at the beach, so we went to the OB for the first time.
Very chill place - not a lot of nightlife as the population is so low, but you also won’t get stuck with a dirty needle on the beach or stabbed on the strip so. There’s that.

So coming up, my family ate a ton of Mexican /TexMex. I being underage at the time, always got soft drinks, sweet tea (one of the good things to come from the south…), or water. Dad always got a beer, specifically Dos Equis amber.
My very first restaurant I went to as a newly 21 year old was a local TexMex spot with my now wife - ordered the burrito I’d ordered 100 other times but ordered a Dos Equis with it.
It changed my perception of the food entirely, and now it’s upsetting to me if I don’t get specifically a Dos Equis with my Mexican food - it just isn’t the same. Now wife has the same feelings and we argue over who is DD when we go out for Mexican.
Modelo is really bad with anything though, sorry gang.

The scaling was broken for two people until the update for the mod today. Now it scales properly for two people instead of giving you 3 person scaling.

EVERY entry in the MGS series from ps1 onward in its entirety (minus Survive) is one of those “if only I could play it for then first time again” games.
