  I told gf I don’t see how we can afford one kid yet alone the 3 she wants. And a house in SoCal. Then the family trips she imagines. I have a masters and 20 yrs experience in engineering. Seems like if I don’t get aggressive it’ll never happen

  I backpacked around the world. I’d be in an incredibly beautiful, remote place, and the Europeans there would rather complain about America than go for a swim or a hike or discuss the country we were in. It seemed to be their favorite pastime even on vacation

  I was born and raised in Texas and left over a decade ago for all the reasons you mentioned. I do think Texas will eventually turn purple. The Republicans are going more fascist because they know this too and are having to get even more aggressive to try and stop it.

  I simply refuse to live in a red state. Only negative is a higher cost of living esp housing where I landed and further from family. But I feel more at home even tho I’m not where I was born.
