Yeah, and die of starvation or exposer, which ever comes first..
Maybe instead of giving out of touch advice, take a look around at the reality most people face first.. - Comment on Double chocolate 6 months ago:
My best guess would be because the chocolate cookies don't contain any chocolate, but rather just cocoa powder.
- Comment on Double chocolate 6 months ago:
Might be the photo, but it looks to me like top is vanilla cookie with chock-chip, while bottom is chocolate cookie with chock chip, making it "double" chocolate.

And this is like tip of the iceberg bare minimum type shit, it's not even suggesting workers own the means of production or anything that radical, all it is is paying employees a more appropriate share of the profits (the company is still making an obscene amount of that profit, and the employees are still under paid for their labour, it's how the pyramid scheme we call capitalism works, but this is proof that even while continuing to roll in billions, other employers don't have to be keeping their employees on poverty wages, they choose to).
- Comment on how are some people able to fall asleep anywheres? 6 months ago:
People saying "if you're tired enough you can sleep anywhere", making me laugh my exhausted ass off (and feel jealous af, but can't really hold it against them).
I've spent more nights than I can count laid in bed for hours, absolutely shattered, wanting nothing but sleep, and none has come. Then when I do finally fall asleep, it isn't for long or of any decent quality (as in EtraordinaryJoe's case - chronic pain will do that to you), so I'm still always tired, and yet still unable to just fall asleep.
My trick to getting to sleep at night is weed and a meal, to help induce food coma, which again, isn't quality sleep, but it's better than nothing..
- Comment on This used book that I bought for 12£ on the internet was apparently previously bought from Oxfam for 1.99£ 7 months ago:
So you're annoyed that someone (who took the time to go to a charity shop, list the book online, and ship it to you) charged you the RRP for the book, that you didn't have to buy from them?
I hope you have the same kind of energy for when you pay mega-corporations anything from tens to thousands of pounds for products that often cost single pounds or even pennies to manufacture (due to underpaying for labour and materials that were in turn manufactured by underpaid labour as well).
The person you bought this from likely works for themsleves, trolling charity shops all day for bargains, and almost certainly pays tax on their income. I'm as anti-capitalist as they get, but even I can't take issue with this. If they had charged you more than the RRP, sure, that'd pushing it, but if you didn't want to pay full price, you should have spent your own time looking for the bargain. ¯\(ツ)/¯

To add, have a look at aps like Too Good To Go (I might be imagining it but there might be one for grocery shops too), as I understand it they offer up food from restaurants that would have otherwise been binned for low prices (or even free? I'm not sure).
Also Approved Food sell food that is past it's best by date, but still good to eat, at much lower prices.
There are also places, I can't think of what they're called right now, but it's basically a communal grocery shop where you take what you need, and pay what you can. Maybe ask your local foodbank if they know of anything like that?
Lastly, when I was looking for an example of that last one, I found this page that might be helpful:

Some good tips here already (look for another food bank/pantry/church in your area that could help, follow dumpster diving youtube channels for advice), you could also try some of these, or look for similar sites (I've only skimmed these, not vouching for the content):
https://www.thebrokebackpacker.com/dumster-diving-for-dummies

But more importantly, please have a look at/chat to turn2us, you are almost certainly entitled to some benefits, they will help you figure out which you are entitled to, and there are then benefits advisers in almost every town who can help you through the process if you find it too daunting and/or difficult.

- Comment on [Serious] Why do so many people seem to hate veganism? 7 months ago:
And some just see those who militantly focus on attacking fellow individuals instead of the systems that are actually to blame (but which they otherwise support and/or benefit from, like capitalism, racism, and ableism) counterproductive, annoying, and hypocritical.
The militant vegans I have come across, and being vegan myself, it's a lot, far too many, are almost exclusively drowning in so much privilege, they can't see how ridiculous they're being in their bizarre militancy of policing other people's plates instead of the actual industries abusing animals (and humans, who these vegans rarely to never pay any thought to, not out loud or in their actions, anyway).
(before I even hit send: if you feel personally attacked by my comment - that's a sign for you to think about it with yourself and ideally do something about it, not try and prove me wrong, inevitably proving me 100% right)
- Comment on [Serious] Do you know of any processed snack foods with some vitamins? 7 months ago:
While I'm autistic and have my own issues with food, we're all different and have our own lists of "safe" and "unsafe" foods, so I don't have any advice specific advice other than please, please don't listen to the people who want you to abuse your child by either forcing, or withholding food.
Post this in an autistic group if you want to hear how well that actually works (that's actually the best advice I can give in general - follow autistic people and spaces, listen to autistic adults who have been there and know what your child is going through, and, often with the opposite intent, the damage their parent or guardian or doctor or "therapist" did to their mental and general health and wellbeing because they were treated as poorly behaved neurotypicals, instead of the neurodiverse individuals that they (we) are.

I genuinely don’t understand why this perspective is so popular.
Probably because you've got one boot stuck so deep down your throat you can't see the other one stomping on your own neck, as well as everyone's around you (including the people they "help", only after having exploited them first, as well as maintaining and exclusively benefiting from the systems that keep them poor and sick in the first place, of course).. ¯\(ツ)/¯

he does not get labeled as such in the news anymore
That's because the philanthropy is working exactly as intended - to white wash his reputation, and make him out to be "the good billionaire".
Moving down from no. 1 to no. 5, at that scale of wealth literally has no impact on him, but rather it's money well spent to take the heat and attention off of him so he can continue exploiting an hoarding in peace.
- Comment on [deleted] 7 months ago:
This, just keep in mind that these places are often first come first serve, and only have limited spaces each day, so check in advance, and be prepared to turn up quite early to get your place in line (I have done this myself, it's a bit of a hassle, but the treatment was as good as any, and was supervised the whole time. Their work is still in place over a decade later).
- Comment on [deleted] 7 months ago:
Sadly I don't think any nationalised healthcare services provide free dental (aka luxury bone care) anymore, I know the NHS doesn't, even the very few of their dentists that remain in the now almost exclusively private, and expensive, sector, charge money for treatment (at the top tier which covers complex treatments, it's £300+, and this resets every 2 months, so if your treatment takes longer, which it is likely to because of lack of appointments, you have to pay that again).

- Comment on I was handed this lovely flyer while grocery shopping 8 months ago:
This is far more than mildly infuriating, this is actively putting peoples lives at risk, it's enraging and quite scary, and why disabled and other vulnerable people are continuing to be more isolated than ever.
Fuck this person and the bullshit they spread. I rarely leave the house, but if I did and someone handed me something like this I'd grab the whole pile and set it on fire, casually roll over their feet with my wheelchair on my way, too.
- Comment on [deleted] 8 months ago:
A lot of people here saying you're over thinking things, but as a chronic pain patient, I know exactly how suspicious and damn right shitty some healthcare professionals can be, and how horrible, and guilty, they can make you feel for something completely innocent because they've been drilled about "pill seekers" or whatever (but were never drilled anywhere near as hard about prescribing responsibly, only profitably) and don't care enough to actually look at why you're taking them.
I do agree with most of the comments that being flagged by anyone is probably not something that should be concerning you at all, you are prescribed the meds by a doctor, and especially after a procedure that has painful recovery, no one will think twice about it.
But it is so fucking important for people to see the kind of impact that clamping down on patients (the stress, panic, anxiety, fear, guilt despite having done nothing wrong, and so on) instead of the doctors doing the irresponsible prescribing.
I hope you manage to calm your concerns, and feel better soon.

- Comment on Why are mental hospitals run like prisons? 9 months ago:
Yeah when I complained about my treatment, they said it’s for my and others safety and to calm down
So they gaslit you in to complying with their ill treatment..
There is zero logic to the idea that treating mentally ill people like shit is actually helping them, and anyone trying to convince you otherwise either has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and/or is just a run of the mill ableist who thinks we somehow deserve it for being such a pain in their asses. - Comment on Why are mental hospitals run like prisons? 9 months ago:
No, no, you see, they must treat patients like subhuman, otherwise how will they know their place?? (/s but only just, since that's exactly how many people running and working in these hell holes actually see the world).
- Comment on Why are mental hospitals run like prisons? 9 months ago:
Patients attack you cause your system treats them like convicts. Treat them like a human and they will react way better
Imagine having to explain such an obvious fact of life to someone who claims to work in mental health, and what that means for the people they're in charge of "helping".. 🤯
- Comment on Why are mental hospitals run like prisons? 9 months ago:
That's because, despite all of the excuses this person has made for themselves, the point is to humiliate you. They want to make sure you know your place, that they are in charge, and that standing up for yourself is futile.
