Penguins just haven’t been around humans enough to avoid them, like most mainland animals learned the hard way.

If you click it enough the counter roles over and is back in good territory

Same with cyberpunk lore. Often that reads like current events, but in the end it’s extrapolation of events back then mixed with knowledge of history.

Welcome to the 11 foot 8 bridge. Turns out the reason is a sewer pipe under the road, and a train bridge above.

That’s the Christian people when the pastor reads from the bible they’ll complain he’s too woke and leftist.

It is in the end parts of French, Latin, Dutch, German and Norse duct-taped together and forced into a trenchcoat.

Turns out these people identify with the teams and feel a victory as if it was their own. The “We won!” crowd. Some other folks have a stronger separation between self and other and don’t have any emotional attachment with some sports team that did something.

No more CO2 means no more greenhouse effect. Everything froze, and you can’t do photosynthesis well through a thick layer of ice, so the die, CO2 gets released as they rot. Maybe some large volcano erupts, things thaw again and they repeat the cycle.

Costs. AI companies have been running at a big loss using investment money trying to scale quickly and conquer the market. That always comes at an end and something closer to the real costs has to be paid.
- Comment on Vibe management 4 weeks ago:
That was always the reason AI was put into everything.

And the rich are even buying up trailer parks to squeeze money out of the people there, so even becoming trailer park trash with kids is unaffordable.

You can use yard. It’s 0.914 meter so close enough. If they ask how many feet and inch that is, that’s an imperial problem.

Don’t participate in contests where you get a code, and you have to go to a site to verify that code and give your data. They’ll sell that phone number immediately to telemarketers.

Beauty standards say body hair is seen as masculine, so to appear feminine all body hair must be removed. Beauty standards don’t care if things are natural, healthy or practical.

That’s how subsistence farmers were dragged into the market economy. Colonists liked doing that.
But this was also done in the past for military campaigns. Provisioning an army is hard work. It’s easier if soldiers can buy stuff with gold along the way and the king demanding the gold back from the population. It’s the more realistic way currency use formed instead of the “suppose we want to barter” story. Villagers not going along with the program got torched.
