I got Blood of the Dawnwalker as a gift from a friend, normally I don’t buy day zero games… but I’ll be damned if this one isn’t a lot of fun. Tight combat, decent enough story, world with plenty to do but not a sprawling pain in the ass, all in all well worth it.

I had nothing to do this weekend, so I spent a loooooot of time with it. It’s not an overly long game, but repeatability is definitely there. The time limit really isn’t a deal breaker, coming from someone with decision paralysis and an inability to do anything if it’s not the peak efficient way to do it.
The combat is so much fun though… the directional attack and parry system is basically if witcher and KCD had a love child, then that love child grew up into a smoke show who’s making eyes at you from across the bar…
You won’t know what to do in the beginning, but give it a shot and you’ll figure it out.

I did this once when I was a kid…. was a cart pusher for walmart, it was like midnight and I was out rounding up stragglers and cleaning up the lot. Off in the distance, I spy what appears to be a big truck air filter box… so I line up my shot and take my paces and go to kick the bejeezus out of it before eventually picking it up.
Well, unbeknownst to me…there was still something substantial in the box, and as realization dawned on me, my toes proceeded to retreat square into my foot… jamming the three littlest and breaking the big and middle toes outright.
Needless to say, I don’t kick strange objects in the dark anymore.

I was one of the football players who would’ve been hating life, if not outright died. That being said, I did enjoy going out and playing a bit of soccer just for the cardio. Reminds me of a line I heard long ago… “Play away…just remember, even boys can play.”
But I’m kind of enamored by this thought experiement… what if we took both teams and put them in a third arena… say track and field or something? Should be a fair way to accurately test athleticism without favoring either side in overall scoring. Sure, certain events would favor certain builds better…but overall I think it could balance fairly well.

Right, I agree. Conditioning is wildly different in both sports. 4 seconds of sprinting and physical impact 90-120 times versus 90+ minutes of jogging and sprinting is no comparison.

You’re right, obviously… but by “compete” I simply meant it would go exponentially better than the other way around.

I’m not dogging on soccer players at all, takes some real stamina and conditioning to do what they do… but if you put them on the field with even the worst NFL team, someone is gonna get hurt. Most people don’t realize just how powerful even the average NFL player is… then you put them up against someone like Ray Lewis (picking retired player to avoid favorites) it’s going to end bad.
To put it in simpler terms, it’s like asking why we don’t see which boat does better in the Indy 500?
