I did this once when I was a kid…. was a cart pusher for walmart, it was like midnight and I was out rounding up stragglers and cleaning up the lot. Off in the distance, I spy what appears to be a big truck air filter box… so I line up my shot and take my paces and go to kick the bejeezus out of it before eventually picking it up.

Well, unbeknownst to me…there was still something substantial in the box, and as realization dawned on me, my toes proceeded to retreat square into my foot… jamming the three littlest and breaking the big and middle toes outright.

Needless to say, I don’t kick strange objects in the dark anymore.
