You can try NewPipe, which is free. IIRC I downloaded it from F-Droid. Maybe someone else can reply and confirm that's the best place to get it.
- Comment on Jeffrey Epstein: Prince Andrew named in newly released court files 10 months ago:
And yet Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are treated like pariahs by the royal family. It's interesting how that works.
- Comment on The fashion industry is still pushing crazy thin body images 11 months ago:
The fashion business seems to thrive on either body positivity or body negativity, but not body neutrality. If you feel neutral.about you body, I guess that doesn't prompt you to spend a ton of money on products to celebrate or disguise it.

My kids call me bruh and I'm their mom, so, eh.

Fridges are a lifestyle choice, like sleeping rough in a tent.

So Mohawk-esque? That I can get with.

It looks less than practical. What do you do when you want to pull it all way from your face? Rock a side ponytail?

So funny to tell this community with wholesome life-love-laugh type memes. Well played, OP.

Am I the only one who likes this song? I even love Last Christmas. I think it's because I don't go into brick and mortar stores often, so I can go a whole season and only hear it a few times. Somehow I hear Father Christmas and Christmas Wrapping way more often.

This is why I appreciate therapy. It's a tool for better parenting, in a way.
- Comment on Circle of life 1 year ago:
Wow, this is kind of fascinating. If anything it points to nature over nurture, which I would think your brother would find a relief.
- Comment on Trying to find a show I watched before 1 year ago:
It is! I added the fun fact and then realized that someone might think I was deliberately referencing the show. :)
- Comment on Trying to find a show I watched before 1 year ago:
It's worth watching - it's very charming.
Fun Fact: The lead actor, Johnny Flynn, is also a singer-songwriter and did the (lovely) theme song for The Detectorists.
- Comment on My Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) 1 year ago:
Thank you for this (and other horror movie) write ups. I've grown to avoid most horror movies (I've become really sensitive to them aka more chicken), but I do still find them fascinating. And based on your recap and review I am never ever going to see this one.
It sounds like WC was going to excess to make some jaded person deliberately uncomfortable. Like, out-grindhousing grindhouse.

That's the (loud, obnoxious) alarm that everyone's cellphone gets when the city sends an emergency text alert. He didn’t need to start the video with that, though.

I only see one looong screenshot- it ends with a peck in the cheek. (I'm seeing this in kbin so maybe thats why I'm missing a screenshot.)

- Comment on 'Mindhunter' Is Dead — So Stop Asking David Fincher About It! 1 year ago:
Mindhunter is one of the reasons why I like to wait until a show has concluded before I commit yo watching it, especially dramas.

I don’t coddle them, but I want them to feel secure and confident in talking to me.
I think it's ok to coddle them every once in a while. You won't spoil them if its occasional.

Other things that are happening across many countries: Migrant crises; extreme weather events related to heat and flooding.
- Comment on Is "Burn Notice" worth watching? 1 year ago:
I just asked my husband. He said that he watched the show from beginning to end. This is a direct quote from him: "No one is going to be a better person for having watched it, but it somehow kept me sucked in until I finished it."
- Comment on [Weekly thread] What is the best movie you watched last week? 9 September 1 year ago:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It certainly stayed true to its roots, maybe too much so (it took a long time to get where it was going, just like most late 60s movies). I would've said the movie was meandering and meh but the last 10 minutes were my favorite 10 minutes in any movie this year.
I just finished Destination Wedding and I should've hated it. I thought it was going to be a sunny, goofy romcom but instead it was like the poor man's Woody Allen. Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder were playing way far against type, seemingly miscast. But I enjoyed seeing them in such different roles playing relentlessly miserable weirdos.

I don't think he said what he was using the ingredient for so it's hard to suggest one.
I, too, wanted to know the recommendation he was given. I'm nosey!

- Comment on Return-to-office orders look like a way for elite, work-obsessed CEOs to grab power back from employees 1 year ago:
I think it can be both commercial real estate holdings, sewing what Big Tech and other prominent CEOs are doing and following their lead, and a way to cutt staff without official layoffs. (Since many people will quit rather than RTO since they no longer live close.to the office, or because they are close to retirement, or they take another position that is WFH or hybrid. I day this because those of some of the reasons my coworkers have quit rather than come in 2 or 3 days a week.)

Michael being self-righteousnessly and self-centered-ly good, and everyone else being earnestly and obliviously (and maybe even endearingly) terrible sounds about right. :)

My husbandand I are stuck on season 1. I can't believe I'm going to try again, lol, but this thread is persuasive. Im going.to have to read some summaries.of the episodes we've watched to remember where we are.in the story.. Third times the charm they say.
- Comment on How did Android's update support become so inconsistent? 1 year ago:
I just searched this up and saw that Google Pixel 6 and later phones will get updates for at least 5 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US, including security, software, and may also include feature drops but I hope more people respond to your question with more brands and models.
- Comment on How did Android's update support become so inconsistent? 1 year ago:
Kind poster, I understood about 4% of what you wrote and absorbed 2% (entirely not your fault). Would you say that this explains why Google only supports their Chromebooks for 5 years?
