Unfortunately my PM will say “let’s meet and see if X joins otherwise we end earlier”. Which means wasting a lot of time. Because X won’t join, the PM will start talking about irrelevant stuff, and if we’re lucky we waste 15 minutes, or more.
I just hate this PM.
What you say is reasonable and is also how I would have handled it. But in this project I have no power and the PM is…just not very good at it.

I’m just saying that the user proposing to use a key that is not used by most applications is better than using a key used by one of the most popular applications.

I didn’t downvote you (for a couple of reasons¹), but I just wanted to share my experience: I’ve been playing games exclusively on Linux for a couple of years now, and it generally works well. Of course it depends on what games you play, and so your mileage might vary, but in some cases I even had a better experience on Linux than on Windows. Mostly due to not having to deal with windows shenanigans. (drivers, reboots, the usual).
But I agree with you that these stories are indeed overblown. Current Windows, with all its problems and everything, is still much better than any previous Windows. I’d still avoid it if I could, and you need to do things to make it behave sanely…

And also, having open hardware (i.e. having full specifications and schematics) is not really going to help much if you can’t get CPUs (you can’t manufacture your own CPUs: the machinery required costs way too much).
If they really ban owning CPUs, the only one to obtain one would be through black market…

The raspberry pi is not open hardware, as far as I know. For example the Broadcom SoC used are definitely not open hardware.

I had a lot of fun with electromagnetism, I think Maxwell equations are really beautiful. Some of the most beautiful equations ever. They look so pretty in differential form, even though I found them easier to understand in integral form!
