I struggle with this every day. I have friends that are far from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but still friends. However they’re so emotionally unintelligent that they’re willing to tear apart any friendship they have over a single difference of opinion… Or by arguing against literal, undeniable facts. These relationships are exhausting to maintain.

Playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater for the ps1 for the first time since I was a kid. All I can say is I must not have been good at it, this game has a surprisingly high difficulty curve if you want to get all of the points needed for the tapes.

They taught me to write up resume using all the publicly available Harvard documentation on what makes a good resume. Since people started using AI, mine get flagged as AI and I have to dumb them down.

It might be satire but this is definitely a reflection of the truth for many. Take this as a sign to support your public library, they shouldn’t be taken for granted.

How was your manager not happy with this? You not only talked them into a purchase but a purchase into an ecosystem that would likely generate future revenue for the company. There is nothing but positives here?

They used a no-no word. My work typically drags people into the parking lot and ties them up until they starve if they’re caught using that word.
- Comment on Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the game 4 weeks ago:
I believe they could have done this between the easy and normal difficulties because there’s not much of a difference between the two other than health regen and numbers for you and the enemies. But two reasons I see that they didn’t.
Madhouse difficulty changes so much it really wouldn’t be possible for you to swap difficulties mid playthrough, so maybe they just ignored it for the other ones. Or, the reason I think is most likely, RE7 has adaptive difficulty. So even if you’re on normal and struggling, things will get nerfed or you will get buffed after dying a few times.
If you had the preorder bonus(?) it unlocks Madhouse from the start which I guess could be a trap if you’re not ready for it and pick it.

Thanks for the response, I’ll check it out in that case. I’ve just been overwhelmed by a lot of Marvel stuff, I still haven’t seen End Game or Infinity War because I haven’t seen all the movies that tie into them.
- Comment on Gone too soon 5 weeks ago:
Is this one of those shows that require you watch every Marvel movie known to man before you understand it or to avoid spoilers? I’ve heard good things but I’m not doing all of that, I don’t even like all the movies from my favorite director let alone Marvel’s entire cinematic universe.

This one would have been a lot less confusing and a bit funnier if she wasn’t actively holding a copy of Half-Life in her hand. I’m trying to figure out why they did that, maybe I’m missing something?

This reminds me of something I did when I was a kid. I put together a Windows XP shortcut that would shutdown the computer on a delay and pop up a message that told you that you were infected along with how to cancel the shutdown command, if you were quick enough.
Well, I was showing my friends in the computer lab and the teacher came up behind me and saw the message. He freaked out, I freaked out, so I didn’t get it canceled before the PC shutdown.
All of the sudden I was in the principals office accused of uploading a worm to their network. Coincidentally, there were issues effecting their entire network and I was the easiest target.
To this day I’m still furious at that teacher. Instead of listening to what I had to say and realizing it was a simple windows shortcut, he berated me and told me it WAS a virus because anything that shuts down a computer like that is.
He could have taken a look and been impressed that someone at that age had the ingenuity to put it together, but instead assumed the worse and killed my passion for computers for many years after. I have half a mind to find his contact information and tell him that he was, in fact, wrong and what that did to kill my passion.

This. Don’t forget about the evil that is HR. I was making good money with a nice career path in that field, but I had to quit because I couldn’t handle how they made me treat people. All my coworkers? Absolute robots. They hid behind the “I’m just doing my job” excuse and couldn’t identify right or wrong, just passed the orders down without sympathy. We had one guy that they couldn’t control with strong connections so they couldn’t fire him, and he really fought for his employees. They verbally tore him apart every day until he couldn’t handle it anymore.
