- Comment on What do you think realistically would happen the moment we meet extraterrestrials? 1 day ago:
Doubtful. That happened here because we need both resources and living space while harvesting those resources. Anything aliens need can be gotten from hundreds of dead worlds and asteroids and stars. And any civilization able to cross galaxies should be able to make their own mobile livingspaces just as comfortable as a planet.
- Comment on What would the next pres of USA have to do to gain back trust for America? Hold a televised event saying the last person was just a fuck up? 2 weeks ago:
I was going to say that, but I felt it was at least slightly plausible that we might make one guy a sacrificial lamb, rather than most of the elected officials.

I know it’ll never happen, but I’d like to add 7. All presidents will be forced to live at the poverty level after their term is over for the rest of their life. No rich friends, no stocks or businesses.
We’d get UBI real quick after that.
- Comment on If I got in a collision with a car from the 70s with a car today, would not the 70s car win out since it would primarily be metal? If so why don't people buy more 70's cars? 4 weeks ago:
The car would win. The driver would lose.

Some ahole from my old cult claimed Spanish doesn’t have sarcasm, but that can’t be true. Every Spanish speaker I’ve ever met has been more sarcastic than an American teenager.

This. The other comments have been watching too many cowboy movies.
- Comment on Not to get all religiony but why in the old testament God was all fire and brimstone and fatal consequences? But the new testament God is all about forgiveness and such?? 7 months ago:
My take is that it’s a reflection of the Israelite people. It’s easy to be all fire and brimstone when you can back it up with military force. Suspiciously that all went away after they got conquered…

A literal imbalance of the humours… congratulations 18th century medicine, you were right precisely once.
