No one eos obligated to have internet, and there are actually people who don’t have it. The TV isn’t sold as an “online only” product, they cannot block you from using something that works offline because you’re offline.
- Comment on Should I unplug my smart tv from the internet? 1 day ago:
You should’ve never connected it in the first place. Never even set up any functions that a piece of hardware prompts you to. Most of those are enforced only because the company behind them gains something from you having them set up. Unless you actually need something that depends on that function, disable the function.

I read mine. My boss sent it to me 2 days before I actually started working there, then he let me work there for a week before actually signing, with all benefits being contractually valid from the day I started, not from the day I signed.
If you never saw your contract, get a lawyer.

Took you 4 years to decide to fucking read your contract?

Modern society teaches you to care about all the irrelevant things, and ignore the major manufactured shifts in your life, that makes you more easily controllable. That’s how they domesticated you into working a 9 to 5, paying taxes, voting for a 2 party system, and ignoring major coverups like JFK’s assassination, the Epstein files, the Diddy trial, wars in the middle east, the fact that nuclear MAD is still literally one systemic failure away, yatta yatta yatta…

- Comment on Car crashes have killed and seriously injured roughly the same number of people as shootings in Chicago this year. Only one of these things is treated as a safety crisis in the media 4 weeks ago:
Driving is orders of magnitude more likely to kill you at any second you’re in a car, than flying is at any second you’re in a plane.
People who are terrified of flying will get in a car and drive like a monkey like it’s no big deal.

“Developers” are the ones who are passionate about the games they make, and definitely don’t want their games dead.
“Corporations” are the ones who only want to profit from selling the game, and then ditch it once it’s no longer lucrative enough.

It’s one possible solution for one of the problems under the same umbrella. If you can’t or don’t want to run the servers for your online game (eg: Echo VR), just open source the server’s code and let the community keep the game running.

Absolute fucking clown. He’s just scared of open sourcing old games because everyone will see how shitty his code is…

Because I could pay privately for the services the government gives me, and it’d be cheaper and better.
- Comment on Subnautica's Original Creators Have Been Removed From Unknown Worlds "Effective Immediately", As Krafton Makes Concerning Leadership Changes 5 weeks ago:
They had already hinted they wanted to make Subnautica 2 into a multiplayer co-op, and they specifically mentioned “games as a service”.
After backlash, they specified the multiplayer would be optional, and “games as a service” means long term updates, not microtransactions, which sounds suspiciously like a rollback to me…
I was already kind of expecting that, seeing as below zero’s map wasn’t half as interesting as the first game, the storytelling was mid, and the mechanics were all over the place, like they just wanted to make another hit by shooting in every direction, with half the work put into it.

- Comment on Why are living beings not being cooked alive constantly at the tekpersatures we are? 1 month ago:
Even if you could actually cook at such temps, you are living tissue, damaged cells are constantly replaced by new ones. If that ever stops, it means you’re dead.
- Comment on With all the animals that die in the sea, is it possible they get pickled in there? 1 month ago:
Every multicellular creature lives in simbiosis with a platform of bacteria, inside and outside of its system, those will always be the first to start decomposition. You’d need extreme conditions to sterilize those and avoid decomposition, and even then, there’s pretty much not a cubic millimeter in the ocean that isn’t filled with other bacteria and fungi.
