- Comment on The Video-Game Industry Has a Problem: There Are Too Many Games 20 hours ago:
Considering the hours you put in a good building game just about every one of them is “free”. But yeah, OpenTTD is great and a lot of fun. TTDX was my first PC game which was an instant buy (before I even had a computer but was getting one in a couple of months) after I saw a review on TV. The 90s was something else.

As my steam account have almost 1800 games it is a bit hard to say. I buy a lot of indie games to experience new mechanics and gameplay. I fall back to Factorio every now and then and that is probably my most played non mmo. It just lacks consistency. I rarely play anything to the end or enough to get good at it.

Damn. With a friend like you I would play a lot more paradox games. I like them but there is so many other games stealing my attention :(
- Comment on Anon doesn't fit in 1 week ago:
I play tabletop, paradox games, dwarf fortress and a lot of other stuff. I also play with lego and have played Warhammer etc, both fantasy and 40k and other miniature games.
I don’t buy or play a lot of AAA games if any at all. Large companies can fuck off.
What am I? An anomaly? :D

Why can’t a game you haven’t heard about be in the top sellers? I did hear about it a couple of weeks ago, played the demo and it was a no brainer for me to buy it.
How Steam measures whatever sells what I don’t know but it can be 15 minutes of fame for smaller studios also. If the game is good, it is earned imo.

I have no clue why it says MOBA gameplay because it is nothing like a MOBA unless there are multiple definitions on that term. The only thing is that you have 4 (5) skills?
Played the demo for like 8 hours which was enough for getting all my 5 chars to level 10 or more which feel enough to put on whatever in the skilltree.
Agree with the slow progress however but I don’t mind too much. I have a lot of fun with the game.

This doesn’t look good… I hope I am wrong but definitely not buying day one.

I am asking this as I am interested in how other people choose games and think about things but you choose games to buy by the looks of it or does gameplay mechanics play any role in it?
I have been playing games since 1988 so I have played a lot of stuff during my whole life but I have never considered only buying games of a certain genre or camera perspective etc. Gameplay is what catches me and the amount of indie games in my library is proof of this. That said I mostly play to see and experience different rules and mechanics in games. Very seldom I finish a game because once I figured it out it is probably dead to me as I find something new to play. There are exceptions of course. And yes, I know I have a problem 😂

I think they are out of keys. Doesn’t list the game any more, only the soundtrack.

Wait… Older genres? Never thought of it that way but it is true that there are some new ones. When is a genre old? 20 years, 30 years?

I read that they will do a new game mode where you dont have to remove everything you built in the beginning. Looking forward to that before I play it again. Only played back when the first release was but looking forward to the new mode as that was something that bothered me.

We built in the cafeteria and as you say we also had these spawns in the middle of the base which seemed stupid but when we progressed further they stoped spawning there. Or maybe because we built more there? Not sure. It’s a thing of the past now anyway so if you decide to continue it will hopefully pass with progress.

Started playing this with my friends a couple of months ago. We are old so we can only play for 2 hours every week bit it is a blast! Having so much fun and the graphics being a throwback to half life 1 is just top notch! It really show how much gameplay means compared to polygon count and whatever effects etc.
Not sure if I would have played this on my own. A bit too much of the survival stuff that I am not into too much but that is a personal preference. Less stress about that with friends.

“why do you balance/Nerf in a single player game? Stupid devs!” Pretty much every single “gamer” with no knowledge of what makes a game fun/challenging. Cracks me up every time.

Probably. It is pretty sad where gaming is going if you dont watch the indie scene.

Wish i could get a hold on these manuals to switch games but after looking some it seem quite hard. Would love to print for my own use and for something to my child to look at just like I did when I were younger. Oh well.
Sad to hear about the condition and I hope you get well. Why do these things happen to good people who make a change in the world?

Genki ac adapter is pretty cheap to do this. Can use with pretty much anything instead of getting something specialized. I use mine for steam deck and switch.

I played only on my deck at first since I wanted a game I only play there. It was really tough and I died a lot.
Played once on my desktop and totally crushed. Not sure if it was luck or screen size and my age :(

Love the gaming news. Thank you!
Been playing Clair Obscure: Expedition 33. Finished it last week and I am blown away. Game of the year for me. There is no challenge here. I read that there is a lot more of it after the story so I am going to continue.

I love Factorio but never had the idea to pick it up on a controller but maybe i should try it out sometime.
