Juul is pronounced like jool or maybe jewel. I can see how non-americans can misinterpret that though
- Comment on Love this 1 week ago:
like, say, a Juul?

those panels are more cost efficient because you can manufacture them with poorer tolerances while still being able to be installed. and they allow the floor to be cleaned/mopped easier.
so, greed and laziness - typically American

14 and 88 are Nazi dogwhistles. 14 words, linked in elsewhere. and then H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 = HH = heil hitler

I just picked a number that sounded good enough lol. I checked the pic above to see what it says but it doesn’t have a weight

5 of the 8 characters in this Flinstones pic have a thing around their neck.
it was an old animation trick as a way to only animate the head because you could lock each frame to the collar/tie/necklace while animating the face, keeping it all aligned
- Comment on Bears give zero fucks If they don't have beans. 2 weeks ago:
what do beans have to do with this?
- Comment on Inflation markers 2 weeks ago:
it’s because they’re sold by weight and since all the water is gone, the jerky pieces weigh so little. to then make a 16oz bag, you gotta add a lot of jerky. backtracking to make that happen means you need way more meat, which means way more money to buy that meat.
I agree though that the prices are ridiculous. I think it helps to know why also.

why’d you think the second one was terrible? like did you think the movie is bad or was the at-home experience a bad one?
- Comment on Monty Python and the Holy Grail at 50: a hilarious comic peak 3 weeks ago:
the ending is a great joke (a literal cop out) but I agree it isn’t all that fun to watch. it (purposely) is very anticlimactic. even with all the shenanigans going on thru the movie, it still has the main plot of Arthur finding the Grail. people want resolution to that even if it’s a weak joke, for example

holy shit I accidentally pointed at the monitor (touched it) with a 6 inch thick magnet in the 4th grade. got in trouble for “possibly damaging the computer”. always felt stupid cuz how could I be so careless to point a magnet at a computer (I knew enough then to know that was a no-no). it’s good to know I didn’t actually fuck anything up (aside, changing memories of the past is time travel)

it’s an uncomfortable truth that sometimes people can be monsters unworthy of humanity.
fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. its a mythological story about the emergence of consciousness into humanity. came with it was the discovery of time and “the future”, then the realization of vulnerability and the need to protect oneself, then the extrapolation that “if I can be hurt in xyz ways, I can make others hurt in those same ways”. consciousness begot the potential for both great good and great evil.
people manifesting their evilness has been a problem since the very beginning. I think it helps to know that it’s not a new, modern age problem. we should still try our best to minimize it much as we can, however.
- Comment on I had no idea y cunt was this powerful 1 month ago:
this is the unjust wedding of ‘masculinity’ and ‘being served’. going down on your lady isn’t manly because you’re serving her and her pleasure, elevating her experience above thine
this also manifests in how a man topping another man is not seen nearly as bad as a man bottoming, despite them both being homosexual acts
I wish being a good servant was seen as masculine and sexy. I mean, isn’t Jesus supposed to be like the perfect moral examplar? the guy defended, washed the feet of, those socially considered beneath him. if only more men tried to actually model their behavior like Jesus, modern society would be in a much better place for everyone, religious and otherwise
