Ty. For what it’s worth I agree with Gemini; I believe it’s the existence of multiple ethically horrible events that cause someone to feel like this is the worst timeline. It was able to find and summarise all large-scale current events that have been reported internationally, and formulate it into a better response than I could’ve in under an hour. I would’ve missed something, or undervalued another thing.

AI Overview
People might have Googled “Worst timeline” from July to September 2025 due to a combination of severe and compounding global crises, including major humanitarian crises, a series of devastating natural disasters, significant geopolitical instability, and widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the internet and search engines.Humanitarian and Conflict Crises
- Gaza War Escalation: The humanitarian situation in Gaza reached catastrophic levels, with reports from the UN and aid agencies in July and September confirming widespread starvation and mounting evidence of famine, leading to significant global outrage and diplomatic shifts. A UN report in September went on to state that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza.
- Worsening Global Conflicts: The Sudanese civil war, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and a gang war in Haiti, which saw gangs take control of over 90% of the capital, all continued or escalated during this period, causing immense suffering and instability. Mass Casualties in Pakistan and Iraq: A fire in an Iraqi hypermarket killed at least 61 people in July, and monsoons killed at least 63 in Punjab, Pakistan. A building collapse in Karachi later that month killed 27. Natural Disasters and Climate Events
- Extreme Weather Events: A deadly heatwave hit Europe in early July, and flash floods in Central Texas killed over 100 people. Severe monsoon rains and landslides also caused numerous deaths and widespread damage in India and South Korea throughout July and September.
- Devastating Earthquakes: In September, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan killed at least 2,200 people, with a second strong quake the following day interrupting rescue efforts. Geopolitical and Societal Instability
- Political Turmoil: Donald Trump’s administration faced numerous domestic and international challenges, including an unproven claim linking autism to a common pain killer, the indefinite suspension of air defense and weapon shipments to Ukraine, and a controversial increase in military presence and a subsequent military strike near Venezuela, which drew international condemnation.
- Global Diplomatic Shifts: Several Western countries, including Belgium, Australia, Britain, Canada, and Portugal, announced their support for Palestinian statehood, leading to strong reactions from Israel and heightened diplomatic tensions.
- Internet and Technology Frustrations: Many users found Google search results to be significantly worse in 2025, saturated with AI-generated content, aggressive ads, and clickbait, making it harder to find reliable information. Google also rolled out two significant, messy algorithm and spam updates during this time, frustrating website owners.
These interconnected events created a pervasive sense of global crisis and unpredictability, making the search query “Worst timeline” a likely expression of public sentiment.

There’s a PC program called Android Debloat, gives you a list of apps on your Android with comprehensive information about what they do, and you can blitz the shit off your phone. Tip 1: Always install a keyboard before removing Gboard. Tip 2: Removing the Google app that forces the search widget also removes Gemini usability, the news sidebar, and others. I know - what a loss
- Comment on Looking for controller recommendations 3 days ago:
I don’t have any small form factor recommendations, but I can recommend - if you’re comfortable going AliBaba/AliExpress - the Ípega brand. It’s about £10, requires an app to configure, but extremely long-life battery and switchable modes. But the best controller for the rare few mobile games that support controller input natively is an Xbox One… one

Let your friend know to get Freesm Launcher. Its a fork of Prism Launcher, which is designed to give you easy control over multiple accounts and multiple instances, and Freesm in particular was made to remove the requirement for a M$ account.
I highly recommend purchasing directly from minecraft.net at least once, because despite the bastard publisher, Mojang do deserve the profit of the sale, whatever they get after M$ and payment processors take their share.

That’s why a lot of folk - okay a tiny amount of dedicated folk - are switching to open source alts or self hosting their own to maximise privacy and actually own their digital media, while keeping some of the comforts of modern technology.
I use a basic SMB shared drive as my own ‘cloud’, and (Android) FolderSync to periodically sync my phone’s folders to it. I then back up that folder to a memory stick. But I’ve been experimenting with something that gives you the true UX of a cloud service - NextCloud. It’s good.
Microsoft has been making a lot of anti-consumer moves recently, so it feels even more necessary to cut off dependency to them and the other giant megacorps.

Good, but nowadays the gap is more $800/$3000.
My console from 2020 runs games about the same as PC hardware from 2018. If you built a 2018 spec PC today it would beat the Xbox Series X and PS5, but unlike the consoles, PC components have reduced in price.
Which means the gap with available hardware and matched SSD size would be $650 to $900

The only way to be comfortable in this system is to disadvantage others, step on others’ backs. The most ethical way to earn comfort in a greedy capitalist society is to earn, borrow and steal as much money as you can. The moral code of a thief stands: Steal only from the rich.

Pretty much every time I played Oblivion I’d spend a week in the tutorial cave, levelling Agility by using a turbo controller and rubber band, jumping in a corner where the ceiling height is just high enough so you can spam about 5 jumps per second. Later on you can do what you said near a goblin to max Sneak, but I think it’s quicker by that guy you need to kill for the Dark Brotherhood

I’m with you. Censorship is killing my sanity. But here’s the issue.
We already have content restrictions in place to “protect” under 18s whether they’re mature enough or not to see porn or gore. Physical and digital media have PEGI, BBFC, etc. ISPs have parental control - the UK has Content Lock. We have parents with personal preferences for their offspring’s access.
National or global censorship is useless. In their quest for power the corporations and governments are trying to turn the internet into a child-friendly internet. If these are the lengths they’re willing to go to, if their intentions were honest, it would surely be easier to let the adults have the freedom of adults and build a second internet for children. Maybe age lock that. Instead of killing everything consenting adults made.
- Comment on Can you please help me pick a gaming desktop for my son that can run Monster Hunter Wilds? 4 weeks ago:
I can see very little difference between the two, then again my PC refresh period is roughly eight years.
Both will run Monster Hunter Wilds with possibly 15% difference in framerate, but very manageable whichever you choose. I’ve listed below some ideal COMPONENTS to look for in a PC - if you can find a desktop with most of them your son will be set for a decade:
CPU:
- Intel Core Ultra 265K/F or higher
- AMD Ryzen 7900X3D or higher (X3D > X)
GPU:
- Nvidia 4080, 5070 or higher (but if you can wait one month, Super variants are going to be released soon - October-November is always a huge time for tech releases)
- AMD Ryzen 9700XT or XTX
RAM:
- Minimum 32GB, DDR5, 5200MHz.
- Brands: Corsair, Crucial, Kingston and PNY are the top
SSD:
- Minimum 2TB, M.2 NVME, 6000MB/s sequential read.
- Brands: Samsung, Western Digital Black/Blue, Seagate, Corsair and, again, Kingston
PSU (Power Supply):
- Brands: Corsair, MSI
Preference: Performance over RGB lighting aha
