- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 1 week ago:
Get a filter for your tap water, then get the water cold. Both will reduce the flavor of the water, leaving you with crisp, neutral flavored water. If that doesn’t do it for you, look into an at home carbonation system, there’s guides for making your own if you don’t wanna do premade.
- Comment on No Kings Protest, USA, 2025 1 week ago:
Absolutely. It shows just how many people are awake and ready to do something. If that many people participated in a general strike the country would buckle to demands real fast.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds 2 - Official Story Trailer | Xbox Games Showcase 2025 2 weeks ago:
Yup, this is why the $80 price tag doesn’t bother me. I’ve got a backlog of games I want to play that I probably already can’t finish in my lifetime. This will be $20 a year post release and in two years that $20 will get you all the dlc as well.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds 2 - Official Story Trailer | Xbox Games Showcase 2025 2 weeks ago:
Games at that time were cutting edge technology, distribution networks didn’t exist, physical units had to make it to stores, etc. The environment isn’t the same. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think $80 is terribly outrageous in our modern economy but at that price point it has better provide 60+ hours of entertainment. If outer worlds 2 is as good as #1 it’s worth $40 tops. I played that game end to end and can’t recall a single characters name.

In an ideal situation you’d save maybe a minute. But in the real world with stop lights and signs you’d probably be closer to 20-30 seconds.

It’s seriously infuriating having to go into Facebook marketplace to buy a used car now. Missing some key filters that make it so hard to browse.

Rom hacks can be so good, but why can’t we move past hm’s??

From what I’ve heard a lot of the same og programmers and animators from the game boy days are still in charge of making the games and they don’t want a large team. They also don’t want to have to work really hard or learn new skills, so basically all the work falls to inexperienced people being led by people with incredibly dated skills. Nintendo still rakes in tons of money so they don’t see the need to interject.

With the tools available now, a smaller team can make projects that compete with much larger studios, mostly because they don’t have a hand tied behind their backs from having to paywall or monetize things. Currently playing Motortown: Behind the wheel, it’s literally a single dev making it and it’s just an all around great experience. He implements what he and the players want without extra fluff or cash grabs and players are spreading the word around about our love for this game so he doesn’t need marketing.
I don’t think big budget AAA games will change much going forward, the businessmen always think they know best and they’ll continue to make games worse if they believe it’ll increase profit. An indie game will just never produce fortnight or GTA money, so they’ll continue to want games that can replicate that model.

It’s the same in every industry. Rich shit bags move in and buy successful entities but have no idea how to run them. They slowly get shittier, so good employees move on and do their own thing.
There’s still amazing games being made, there’s just a lot more shit games you have to sift though. Follow great game devs, not who they work for.

Let’s clear it up though, it’s the guy who invented the cereal who was a nut. His brother was the one who was like “I’m gonna sell the flakes, not the dick snip bit.” They got into a huge battle when the quack doctor realized his brother was making more money selling the cereal than he was selling religious pseudoscience.

I installed PPSSPP on my phone and paired a switch joycon. Played through a few really good games that way when my kid required being held to sleep. I’d imagine you could pair one to your computer and find some games that you’d like.

This guy is informed. Socialism got us out of the hole capitalism dug in the depression. Seeing their power slip away, conservative politicians wasted no time in shifting the narrative. The US needs another FDR to equalize things (let’s just skip the prison camps this go).
- Comment on Clean butt 2 months ago:
Exactly. There’s a learning curve but once you’ve got it, you dread wipe only bathrooms. Installed a bidet on one of my toilets six months ago and now that’s the only toilet anybody in the house poops in unless it’s already occupied.

When it dropped my folks were on a trip and I was staying with my grandma. Rolled into circuit city to get a copy and then dick behind the counter told me I wasn’t old enough (12) to play the game. My grandma had my back though and told him off. Good times.

A lot of components are scavenged for repairs. You’d be surprised how many POS systems run on XP still.
- Comment on PC gamers spend 92% of their time on older games, oh and there are apparently 908 million of us now 3 months ago:
Exactly what I was thinking. While it’s a great headline the article is nonsense. What about early access? Did those players play any new games? How much time was spent afk? Were those old games new purchases? This is a cherry picked statistic and almost certainly doesn’t paint a clear picture or tell any story except “live service games work”

That’s the general conservative mindset. It’s why lies work so well on them, get them to believe the lie and they’ll never let it go.

I’m with you that my favorite changes with my mood but probably final fantasy tactics. Story is great, graphics have aged like wine, great variation in play styles, the death cries of my enemies will always play like music to me.

- Comment on Why Are Conservatives More Susceptible to Believing Lies? 3 months ago:
As far as I’m concerned we should just admit they’re gullible and want to blame someone for their failings. Let’s take that and manipulate them to our ends. Blame the billionaires, call them thieves, keep rattling the cage and provoking them. Tell them they’d have a Ferrari if Bozo and the rat didn’t steal from them. Sure it’s gross, but it’s what you’d do with a child refusing to take their medicine. It’s ultimately for their own good.
- Comment on Why Are Conservatives More Susceptible to Believing Lies? 3 months ago:
Gullible yes, probably motions too. You can be extremely intelligent and still have massive blind spots. My mom and Grandpa are both conservatives but I’d consider them intelligent. I was able to have discussions with them and convince them a lot of conservative policy is unnecessarily cruel and short sighted. Got both to promise me they wouldn’t vote for Trump, but they’re fiscally conservative because they’ve got money.

I’m with you, I have large hands but I’m a serious gamer. An hour in and I’m already feeling it’s weight and feeling the fatigue. It’s a very impressive device, but it doesn’t suit me and my needs at all.
Bought an r36s and it’s glorious. Playing all the classic SNES and PSX games I didn’t play back in the day. Can grind in an RPG for hours one handed and it fits in my pocket. Bonus is that it’s so cheap if it breaks or gets lost it’s no big deal.
