In my experience alcohol makes everyone less annoying, as long as you’re the one drinking the alcohol.
- Comment on Steam is basically a PC gaming monopoly, so why isn’t anyone mad? 3 weeks ago:
But Goldberg emulator has been widely and easily available basically forever and they’ve done nothing to try to stop people from using it or shutting it down. People are also able to add pirated games to their steam library and run them without fear of banning or retaliation on platforms like SteamOS or the steamdeck. Without being able to launch (pirated) games from within steam, using proton or gaming on Linux at all would be much harder.

Aww that’s disappointing but not surprising. I saw the headline of your third link and I was like “Damn cool move by wildlife conservation police, they’re helping people identify and track ICE agents and raids”. But of course that’s not what “monitoring for ICE” means, it means they’re helping ICE by monitoring the cameras for protestors.

I was making a joke but that was my point, that if they did really will they wouldn’t tell anyone…

If you didn’t hear about the results it probably means they were either completely unsuccessful or extremely successful.

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of the controversy around that assertion. The 2021 study doesn’t necessarily seem entirely definitive either in my opinion, the total absence of ticks in the stomach contents despite the presence of many other insects seems suspicious, and they only examined 32 possums from a single area. Nonetheless you’re right, the other study doesn’t seem to have had the best methodology. I’d like to see more information but a search really only turns up those two studies and a bunch of shitty articles on them.

Possums do too! And they’re immune to rabies. Awesome little cute scary looking creatures.

- Comment on Is Flappy Bird a good game? 1 month ago:
I mean personally I would trust the rando who puts it up for free online more than I would trust epic games to make an accurate version, but like I said I don’t have enough of a memory to accurately judge. I also like that the online one doesn’t have ads or purchases.
- Comment on Is Flappy Bird a good game? 1 month ago:
Seems to be many versions playable online in your phone browser.
flappybird.io There’s one that seems functional. I never played the original more than once or twice so idk how accurate it is but it seems to match my memory. - Comment on Is this accurate, Canadians? 1 month ago:
Yeah, the teachers always made sure to put out the joints before going back to class at my school. I still say that telling all the students there was a pet skunk in the teachers lounge that we weren’t allowed to see was cruel and unnecessary though.

Yeah the spider verse movies were pretty fucking awesome, it’d be great to see like a punisher movie in that vein, or maybe the suicide squad movies would have been less terrible like that. Honestly I can see a lot of mid superhero movies being made wayyy better just by animating then instead.

Sex without is waaaayyy better. My last partner had a copper IUD but I’m definitely eyeing a vasectomy for the future because it’s such an incredible difference.

- Comment on Why are we not getting stress relief games where we take our stresses out on normal people? 2 months ago:
But that’s the point, the only reason you would need to ‘cause chaos’ is because you’re willfully subjecting yourself to a shitty environment. That’s like getting yourself thrown in jail just because it would be super satisfying to break out. Just leave the bullshit in the outside world, don’t take it home with you and concoct weird revenge fantasies about it.
