Are you saying that plants can run away?

Yeah, but then it’s easier to download the whole game rather than buying a CD/DVD drive.

Then you get a drive, but the game you loved is no longer playable since the server it is using to confirm its license has been offline for years.

You might be shocked, but it is a joke.

Tribalism. Our tribe is good, their tribe is bad. If you are not with your tribe, you are a traitor, so people are pressurized into this, and start believing lies about our glorious pride and wise leaders.

Climate change, antibiotics resistance, that kind of stuff. A slow and boring apocalypse instead of what we see in the movies.

Okay, I need recommendations. What is the best video about the recalled Shrek toy?

It can’t match proper headphones. But I listen to podcasts and books, so the audio quality is not that important.

I switched to wireless during the covid pandemic. Otherwise it was really painful to put on and off the mask each time I enter public transport. And I agree, it’s super convenient in many other situations as well.
- Comment on I don't get how people can become depressed, when we live in the century of Fentanyl, easy access to alcohol and amusement arcades. 4 days ago:
I’ve heard that drugs, including alcohol, trigger the chemicals in our brains that make us feel “happy”. After the effects wear off, our natural “happiness” level is even lower than it was before. This is why we feel the need to use the drug again, and over time, we also have to take more of it to feel the same level of “happiness”.

One of my favorite examples is when a company from India (I think?) trained their model to regulate subway gates. The system was supposed to analyze footage and open more gates when there were more people, and vice versa. It worked well until one holiday when there were no people, but all gates were open. They eventually discovered that the system was looking at the clock visible on the video, rather than the number of people.

Mate, did you really wake up this beautiful Sunday thinking it’s worth dying on this hill?
- Comment on How many people actually want fully on-site IT jobs? 1 week ago:
From my open office experience, it is often not better with colleagues. A lot of noise, distractions, useless conversations. That is not as bad as kids, but this is why I always dreamt to WFH. I will always be grateful to the person who under cooked that bat in 2019.

Because this is how additions work, no? People want to quit alcohol and tobacco, but can’t, as it offers pleasure their brains fail to reject.

Luckily you don’t need to look at it while driving! I’m more concerned about spikes, they don’t look comfortable to constantly touch them.
- Comment on Nintendo Direct announced for June 18 at 7 AMPST 1 week ago:
I doubt they will. Ninendo is not fighting with PS and Xbox, and it surely has no reason to fight with Steam Deck and other powerful portables. They found their market, and they are extremely successful at what they are doing. One does not need super hardware to create wonderful games.

Yeah, that is exactly what somebody who is planning to announce Switch 2 would say.
- Comment on $843 million lawsuit against Valve already has its own website: "The Steam Claim" accuses the biggest store in PC gaming of "overcharging" players 2 weeks ago:
Yes, but they sue Steam that has competitors selling games for the same price instead of literal monopolies. Even Apple was forced to open up for other app stores.

My favorite recent example:
…steampowered.com/…/Banishers_Ghosts_of_New_Eden/ playstation.com/…/banishers-ghosts-of-new-eden/
PS5 game on sale did cost 2 EUR less than the regular price on Steam. I don’t think Steam overcharges anyone. It’s not like the game is cheaper somewhere else on PC either: …epicgames.com/…/banishers-ghosts-of-new-eden-f9e…

I’m not sure what to feel about this. I’m a huge fan of the series, but I’ll wait for real reviews from real players.
- Comment on Don't you all get tired of the constant negativity? 3 weeks ago:
Yes, it’s tiring. A lot of people and communities on various platforms are cultivating negativity, focusing on bad things. Even a simple meme about a cat can produce a comment section dominated by replies about how dangerous cats are for wild animals. Okay? Can we have a laugh because the cat did something silly?
I read that our brains are more likely to react to negativity, as that was a defensive mechanism in the past. But today, the internet can mess up our stimulus very, very badly. I don’t even open most of these posts you’ve mentioned, I ignore them like white noise. You can’t constantly bathe in that information and be mentally fine.

I used to play TF2 a lot in my school years, but today I find it too intimidating. I’ve never been good at competitive games, and I’m even worse in my 30s :D But I like the idea that TF2 is still alive, people are playing, and I could return at some point. Alas, with the alleged development of a new hero shooter by Valve I don’t expect them to pay real attention to TF2.

Same for me with Ghosts of Tsushima. I haven’t pirated a single game in 15 years. It’s crazy that Sony doesn’t sell a game in a EU country for God knows what reasons.

Every time I head about TF2, it has issues with bots. Which is sad. I don’t play anymore, but obviously there are people why enjoy and love this game to this day.
