Egads, I was unaware that was as thing too. That’s even stupider!

I feel like that was an engineered perception based in a vocal group of idiots, TBH. I played the second game at launch and it rocked me to my core. The story was strong in my opinion.

Pedro and Bella had good chemistry. Bella without Pedro? Not so much most of the time. Which is really frustrating because occasionally Bella shows a flash of brilliance and you’re like “OK, she can act.” But too many times Isabela has had to carry the scenes it feels like.
And Abby… I know they have said she doesn’t need to be physically jacked for the TV show, but I’m sorry, I am not really buying it. No offense to the actress they did choose, just not working in this particular role for me at all.

400 Boys was decent, I chuckled at Close Encounters and I did quite enjoy How Zeke Got Religion despite the whole WW2 bombers thing being pretty tired as a trope. The rest of them were pretty unmemorable, alas.

Honestly I have used Blue Sky and Mastodon and Mastodon feels a lot more elegant to me, personally.
- Comment on Bluesky Is Plotting a Total Takeover of the Social Internet 1 week ago:
What I don’t get is why anyone would ever choose commercial social media again given there are Activity Pub clones for practically everything now, where you aren’t the product.
- Comment on Bella Ramsey Says ‘It’s Important’ to Keep Gendered Awards for Best Actor and Actress: ‘Recognition for Women in the Industry’ Must Be ‘Preserved’ 3 weeks ago:
I mean, that seems relatively obvious to me (best actor and actress being separate categories that is), and I bet they’re trying to stir up shit from a really simple statement she made? Quite possibly they also stoop to hand-wringing about “whatever category should we put a transgender person in?” too.
I refuse to read the article and give them clicks though.

Yeah, I’m still in AZ, thus my question, haha.

Ah, cool! Well AC pretty much solves my hesitations here in AZ, lol. But I know a lot of northern states still might want AWD as an option.
- Comment on Slate Truck is a $20,000 American-made electric pickup with no paint, no stereo, and no touchscreen 4 weeks ago:
My two immediate concerns would be whether it comes with AC and is there an AWD option. Both of those could be deal breakers towards the borders.

I think it will depend on if they have lots of USB power conveniently available. Like you could literally make your own stereo with two bluetooth speakers and a phone as long as there’s plenty of USB power and mounting points.

I’m a little suprised they released this now that Gaiman has managed to Whedon himself.
- Comment on What's a highly-rated, critically acclaimed TV series that you couldn't get into, or have no interest in? 5 weeks ago:
Breaking Bad. It’s too painful. Jessie is so dumb I can’t watch it. Walter’s motivations are also so randomized… it all drives me banana nuts.
- Comment on Why do some drivers turn off the signal sound so quickly? 1 month ago:
It exists because too many idiots turn it on, forget about it and then drive along for another 5 miles signalling a turn they’re never going to make and confusing everyone around them more than just not signalling or not signalling long enough.

And I think on some cars I’ve had in the past, it was only 2 times even.
- Comment on Apple Loses $1 Billion Annually on Apple TV+ | Report 2 months ago:
I mean, I agree 1 billion is a lot of money, but if they’re trying to really grab viewers and keep them, I think they have to make it a worthy proposition and they started waaaaay behind the other streaming services, who have had a lot longer to collect a worthy back catalogue of content.
They’ve had a number of shockingly good shows too, though. Like if you have missed any of these, you’ve missed out a bit, IMHO.
- Ted Lasso
- Shrinking
- Silo
- Slow Horses
- For All Mankind
- The Morning Show
- Severance

They made $14 billion in Q4 of 2024… what even does losing 250 million a quarter mean compared to those numbers? I think they need to stay the course and maybe even expand faster, to be perfectly honest.

- Comment on How ham radio endures - and remains a disaster lifeline - in the iPhone era 7 months ago:
Cool! Since I do the occasional mountain bike ride or hike into places with zero cell service, it’s a huge plus for me to have satellite communication capabilities on the phone. Interesting they’re working it the other way too for disaster areas.

If you have an iPhone 14 on and iOS 18 you can now text via satellite during an outage too. People in NC were raving about how great it was to be able to check in with loved ones and get help.

The community backlash is the bug as far as Sony is concerned. They’re trying to work around it now…
- Comment on Why does the USA have so few legal protections for ordinary people, and how can we change that? 8 months ago:
Pretty much we are a corporate welfare state at this point. Electing officials you think will pass or enforce laws to bring them to heel is your best bet. (People like AOC are preferred, as she has never accepted contributions from corporations to her campaign.)

Man the one on the right just hunkers down in the middle of the trail, no roosting! And they taste dusty when they fly up and hit you in the face while you’re mountain biking at night.
