I actually chose my words very carefully because I wasn’t sure either. Unpaid? Or the women volunteered without even being asked? I’d normally think the latter, but it seems pretty bizarre!

Not research, but artistic! And the article said the volunteers were unsolicited, so they were (presumably) happy to contribute to the cause!

I love the combo of this blog’s subject with its domain name.
I sent it to several friends and asked them “Have you had ‘The Conversation’ with your loved ones?”

You could invent your own. It wouldn’t stop someone who was really determined to trick you, because the tradeoff between convenience and perfect security would likely leave you vulnerable to reverse engineering. But that being said, you can take your message, reverse it, Caesar cypher it, replace letters with numbers, drop vowels or spaces, etc etc until you’ve mangled it into a “hash” that only you know how to produce.

I don’t know what his former company does, but it’s easy to imagine scenarios on both ends of the spectrum. From processing Bejeweled microtransaction payments to ER intake or ambulance dispatch. Doesn’t really matter in the end. Software is everywhere and we all use it. Unless the company is so bad that damaging it is a political act of defiance against evil (I’m looking at you, Nestle, Blackwater, etc), then there’s really no good argument for employees burning shit on their way out.

Kinda heroic, ngl. I think the prison sentence is appropriate, but if I was let go after 11 years, I’d harbor fantasies of doing something similar. They’d stay fantasies, though.

The jangled skeletons guarding the entrance to Shart’s Hollow have a 1/100 chance of dropping a Putrid Shart Shard. If you combine 12 of them, you can craft a rare opposite-handed Bambieshart Broach that, when dual wielded, gives a stacked 0.09% boost to critical hits. This strategy is crucial to my main build that is just the two broaches and a Grisly Thong, for aesthetic purposes.

Also, “Be about a spoon’s worth in everyone’s brain” Everyone thought he was dishing out sage martial arts wisdom that they didn’t quite understand, but Bruce Lee was constantly trying to discuss the looming threat of microplastics. Truly ahead of his time.

- Comment on 'Bluey' animated movie from Disney to hit theaters in 2027 10 months ago:
Typically it’s toilet humor (which the Australian viewers are more casual about), but apparently there’s some cut/altered/restored content on both sides of the fence. blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Censorship_of_Bluey has the breakdown by season. Look for reasons with “Regional difference” in bold. Lots of things that “might be dangerous” are cut in the BBC versions. I find it kinda funny, but maybe I’m a dumb American lout. For example, in an episode about playing with balloons, they cut a scene showing Bluey blowing up the balloon because of “concerns about children with asthma wanting to do the act” 🙄

My kid and I have really enjoyed the Australian version produced by ABC. The Disney+ American version shies away from some topics, which I find to be incredibly lame. I guess what I’m getting is: I hope Disney does more distributing than producing.
