Source: half of the connectors to other game services don’t work, and they haven’t bothered to make their Mac app function in literally years (and if asked about this they tell you to “use the website”).

I’ve been part of groups with cheaters and non-cheaters, so I don’t think the rule is definite. However the two do seem to slowly separate automatically (presumably due to people who don’t cheat eventually getting annoyed by the people who do’s commentary on how badly they want to fuck everyone).
Also worth keeping in mind that everyone who cheats started off as a non-cheater, it just seems to be a one way ticket.

It is definitely a stupid strategy. I have a large iTunes library, and when they released the apple music app for windows a few years ago I tried switching over. Somehow the new app was even worse than iTunes, so I had to figure out how to switch everything back. At the same time I tried installing the iCloud app for PC - that may be literally the worst piece of software I have had the displeasure of using. It installed a bunch of services on my PC, added itself to the file explorer, and then failed to let me log into my account. That was also fun to figure out how to completely remove.
Maybe it is working again now… I have no real desire to test it again. Clearly they released these applications (after years of complaints) knowing that they weren’t functional, or possibly without any testing whatsoever. Overall it is a laughable effort from a company with a budget as large as Apple’s.

They need to fix their launchers on all systems before the do anything else. I’m happy to support them in their mission of game preservation, but they really don’t do a good job at providing a high quality service.
Also, I’ve purchased things from them that were never provided, and they refused a refund (warcraft 2 battle net key). I know it was likely Blizzard’s fault, but they could have at least responded to my emails with more than “no refunds, we are working on it”.
