With options trading, a lot of stock movement is reflective of speculation rather than true value.
- Comment on Furiosa's Box Office Opening Explained: What The Hell Happened With The Mad Max Prequel?! 6 months ago:
Agreed. I thought the movie was a great addition to the Mad Max films. As others have pointed out, some of the CGI was lacking, but other than that it was extremely enjoyable and well paced.

Background CGI for ensuring consistency and immersion is what CGI excels at. Human-based CGI still has the uncanny valley. I loved Furiosa, but you can easily tell when they had CGI humans for stunts.
It’s just another tool and directors need to choose the appropriate time to use it and when not to.

Does ActivityPub report back bans to the user’s home instance? I could see a moderation tool that let the admin autoban their users if enough federated instances had banned them.
- Comment on The level of engagement on Reddit these days 6 months ago:
I always report. However, I heard that the report only goes to the admin of your instance. Maybe future releases will support cross instance reporting and the ability for admins to “trust” bans by admins from other instances.

Here’s one: kbin.social/m/random/t/1060795 I always see them popping up under random@kbin.social
- Comment on The level of engagement on Reddit these days 6 months ago:
Bots are already proliferating the fediverse. Kbin is constantly spammed with “buy online drugs here” links. Transparent bots (those that are tagged as bots) try to boost engagement by reposting things from Reddit, but are still perpetuating one of the rest aspects of reddit even if they’re being upfront about it. AI generated articles posted on obvious junk websites are constantly being spammed by the same accounts.
It’s a difficult problem to solve.
- Comment on Google Search’s “udm=14” trick lets you kill AI search for good 6 months ago:
Disinformation via AI is going to be absurd, especially if Google keeps going down the path of “Here’s an AI summary of search results”. It’s only a matter of time before someone figures out how to manipulate the AI through bad data.
Google has already lost the SEO war and they (supposedly) knew how their algorithms worked. How do they ever expect to control the AI black box?

They do indeed have more protein. The conclusion that it’s for them to fall slower seems to be just a hypothesis

Are they though? I have about 75% of them so far and it’s admittedly been a while since I played the first one, but most of them seem to have the same basic effects.

The keepsakes having art placeholders confuses me. Why didn’t they just reuse the keepsake art from the first one?

Alien hand syndrome makes me believe this. Usually occurs when something traumatic happens to the brain. The way it’s described seems like the dominant consciousness losing control of that motor function to the lesser consciousness.

What a wonderful rabbit hole to go down. My takeaways are it could possibly be used for knitting, but traditional spool knitting that the Grandma uses in the video doesn’t show up in history until the 1500s. If the Romans did use it for gloves then knitting has been around much longer than we have evidence of or they were using a different method with the dodecahedron.

I also just finished episode one. I agree, there are definitely signs they are trying to be quirky like the old man saying “Get back here! Well that didn’t go as expected” when she left the vault, but I think they need to lean into it more. Something is just a little off.
I still enjoyed it though!

Daredevil’s long take hallway fight scene really made me appreciate that type of shot. The scene just hits different when it’s choreographed to be done in a single take. It’s what made me love the John Wick movies.
