Commenting to appease my anxiety, ignore me if I bother you.
Doctors generally recommend abstaining from sex for 6 weeks after giving birth.
- Comment on Is it worth investing if I can only contribute $50 a month? 3 weeks ago:
Correct, but thankfully that won’t be a surprise since it is evident when you are enrolling. It’s up to each pet owner to decide if that’s worth it.
In our case, a few hundred dollars per year to make ER visits financially bearable is a good value.
- Comment on Is it worth investing if I can only contribute $50 a month? 3 weeks ago:
I don’t know about that. Both of my cats would be dead if not for pet insurance. One needed a $10k surgery this summer that I was able to afford because of my pet insurance. The other had $4k of surgeries the year before. Both instances my insurance covered 70%. Neither of my cats areuch more than 5 years old, just bad luck with their health.
- Comment on Why can't someone create a public alternative to health insurance in the USA? 4 weeks ago:
To answer your question, there are some alternatives that are usually affiliated with a religion. CHM is one such organization. Members all pay a recurring fee like they do with insurance, and all have access to the pool for their healthcare. I have never used one so I cant speak to the efficacy, but it seems to answer your question.
- Comment on I am a very liberal person and I have very liberal children, except for one. I'm pretty sure my Gen Z son has been taken in by fascist doctrine. What can I get him for Christmas? 1 month ago:
As a lefty who received “gifts” from her conservative parents, let me suggest giving the gift separate from a major holiday. Something I wish my parents had done that could work as a gift of sorts for you would be to take your son out for coffee or breakfast. Nothing fancy, preferably not busy. Talk to them about why they think what they do. Don’t combat them, just try to understand. Ask them if they would be comfortable talking more after you’ve had time to think about what they said.
“Hey [child’s name], you know that we have strong beliefs about certain subjects. We feel we have good reasons to believe the things we do, but there are smart people in the world who disagree with us. You are a smart kid, and that is reflected in the way you look for answers to problems that the way you have been brought up to think hasn’t offered a solution for. It would mean the world to your mom and I to know out son better, what are some things you’ve thought deeply about recently?”
- Comment on Why do people say "quote unquote something" and not "quote something unquote" ? 1 month ago:
That’s your two sense, anyway
- Comment on USA President term limits 1 month ago:
It’s worth mentioning that this has only been the case since the 1950’s. FDR was elected four times and died during his final term, after which term limits were added to the constitution in response.
- Comment on How do Americans win their country back? 2 months ago:
“Americans” did win their country back. We aren’t welcome in it anymore.
- Comment on Cynthia Erivo calls out fans who made their own Wicked poster 2 months ago:
I prefer the original poster. The new poster still looks like Wicked to me, and I would be disappointed if it recreated the original exactly. The fan edit is fun, I like it, but I understand artists from current year who made the modern poster would want to make a statement different than artists from when the original came out.
Everyone is making art, why do we have to be mad about that?
- Comment on At what point when learning a new language do someone become bilingual? 3 months ago:
My thoughts aren’t in a language, so this always confused me as a benchmark.

We all have a visceral reaction to this because we’ve had an adjacent experience to this at some point. You know it’s true.
- Comment on What’s a game you can 100% without hating by the end? 4 months ago:
If you don’t mind using an exploit for the pantheons, Hollow Knight is a very fun game to 100%.
If you don’t use the exploit, you will become a shell of your former self.

- Comment on Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone Can’t Let Go Of Stardew Valley 7 months ago:
Terraria was released in 2011, and still gets free updates with similar frequency to Stardew. Minecraft alpha was released in 2010.
Sure, Eric won the cozy farming genre. He is also clearly passionate about the game. Maybe looking out for his own health is exactly why he continues to dabble with the game.
- Comment on Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone Can’t Let Go Of Stardew Valley 7 months ago:
The title seems to imply that it’s a bad thing? Why should he let go of it? Should Minecraft devs let go? Terraria?
- Comment on According to the Federal Reserve Americans owe over $1.6 trillion in student loan debt, with the average borrower owing $37,667 7 months ago:
For anyone curious like I was, this means over 42 million Americans have student debt; almost 13% of the total US population.
