I used to visit a classic forum like this. One person really carried the conversation and then suddenly disappeared and the forum died. Still have no idea what happened to them. Hope they just got bored or preoccupied with life.

- Comment on FromSoftware says Elden Ring's popular Seamless Co-op mod is 'definitely not something we actively oppose,' and may even 'consider ideas like that with our future games' 5 months ago:
Coop is completely broken without this mod. A friend and I tried to play vanilla ER but 4/5 times the summon would fail, but 5/5 times I’d get invaded immediately.
Installed the mod and suddenly it all just worked.

I really wish game and film companies would stop sharing trailers on xitter, and people should definitely find a different source before resharing it.

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on Wii is my favourite DBZ game of all time, so I hope this lives up to it. That game had a massive roster, with the ability to transform and fuse characters mid-match, so I hope that’s still a feature.
I’m just worried that they’ll chop up the characters and release them piecemeal as DLC. Seeing Gogeta and Broly as pre-order bonuses makes me think this’ll be the case, but they’re just “early-unlock” so maybe they’re in the game anyway but the pre-order just gives you access to them from the start.
- Comment on The Thing: Remastered Announcement Trailer | Nightdive Studios 6 months ago:
This is really surprising. I figured this game was lost to time because of licensing issues after Vivendi was absorbed into Activision.
It looks like more than just a remaster is going on here. I’ve been replaying it recently and there are some things shown in this trailer that aren’t in the original game, unless they just scripted some scenes to look cool for the trailer that aren’t actually going to be in the game.
I just hope they rebalance the boss fights. Some of them are ridiculously difficult in the original, to the point where they almost ruin the game.

That would have been way better.
- Comment on [Actor discussion] What do you think of Jared Leto's acting and performance? 6 months ago:
I definitely tempered my expectations when I heard about that, at least until we know more about what role he’s playing. If he’s the main character, I don’t think he could carry the film and it could definitely suffer as a result. But as a weird, quirky antagonist like in Blade Runner, even if he’s not very good in it the film as a whole could still succeed. Give him a role like Michael Sheen’s in Tron Legacy and he could do alright.
- Comment on [Actor discussion] What do you think of Jared Leto's acting and performance? 6 months ago:
I’m one of the few people who thought his Joker was fine. Most versions are heavy on the “clown” and light on the “prince of crime” part. I like seeing him depicted as a gangster rather than just an anarchist, and the modern version of that in Suicide Squad worked for me. The brief scene we get of him in the club has a lot of subtext. You could get an actual sense of how he fit in among and also disrupted the traditional mobs in Gotham by running his own enterprise that threatened them by creating chaos that the other gangs couldn’t adapt to. The only thing I’d get rid of is that “damaged” tattoo on his forehead.
Most of that is independent of Leto’s performance, though, which is… fine.
The only other thing I saw him in was Blade Runner and he was also… fine. More over the top than anything else in the movie so he didn’t really fit in, and he felt tacked on to what would have been a mostly complete movie without him.
I guess that’s it. His performances are fine. Not great, but get a lot more hate because he’s generally known to be an insufferable, arrogant douche in real life.

Please forward this topic to your instance admins as an example of why lemmy.ml needs to be defederated. Yes, they’re a big instance and, no, not every user is like this. But enough of them are that it’s a constant problem that the .ml admins have no interest in stopping because they adamantly support it.
Leaving it up to us to block .ml ourselves is insufficient as the comments on this post perfectly demonstrate. You can’t even point out their Chinese/Russian propaganda and censorship on other instances without being brigaded by .ml users.
They need to be cut off from the rest of the fediverse. The sane users and communities can migrate to better instances. Not wanting to move because it’s inconvenient is no excuse. At a certain point you have to acknowledge you’re hanging out at a nazi bar, and if you stay there when every other sane person is urging you to get out, that’s on you.

I never thought the music in nu-Doom was all that great anyway. Not compared to classic Doom at least. E1M1 is forever stuck in my head and if you hum a couple bars to anyone who has played it, they’ll immediately know the tune.
The music in nu-Doom is fine while you’re playing, but I can’t remember a single track.
