Yeah there are other reasons but you know I didn’t really wanted to share them before. And now with your reaction I definitely don’t want to share them. Also you do know your maintenance diet is just the calories you need for your basic metabolic needs. It doesn’t take into account any calories needed to gain weight (something I have been trying to do all my life) or any activity. I remember days where I could have multiple 1200 to 1500 calories meals and still have snacks in between because I would get hungry between meals.
You call bs on me without having context. Yeah I didn’t share context for reasons. Maybe you shouldn’t attack someone when they say they have been attacked in the exact same way and found it hurtful.

Yeah they are. That is why I used Real GDP Growth. It is still not a great metric but it is a little better than GDP and GDP Growth.
- Comment on Choose your difficulty 1 week ago:
Here is the wiki article on Real GDP feel free. en.m.wikipedia.org/…/Real_gross_domestic_product The take a way is you will see most of South America and parts of Africa are on par with the USA.
Weirdly enough it is very hard to get corrupt politicians, civil servants, etc to check the yes box for the question are you corrupt. So corruption perception is used, which is actually pretty accurate. The local population is pretty good at noticing when they’re being asked to pay a bribe or seeing that nepotism is present in government.
If you were to look at the ranked list you would find that Uruguay, Barbados, Bhutan, and Botswana. Are all ahead of Greece, Montenegro, Romanian, Bulgaria, and Hungry.
As for the happiness index did you actually scroll down to the full list? Yes most of the country you would expect to be high on the list. There are plenty of outliers, Costa Rica is higher than the USA; Uruguay is higher than France; El Salvador is higher than Italy, Malta, Spain, Estonia, and Poland; Honduras and China are higher than Croatia, Greece, and Bosnia and Hertzegovina. I am sure there are more but I hope you get how it does not support the joke.
Is eurocentric and a little racist because it clearly states that the only countries worth living in are European or North America (except Mexico which apparently doesn’t exist). This meme is basically saying living in Europe or the United States is the best and everywhere else is a shit hole country. Yet looking at the actual data we can see that is not true.

I know this is just a shit post but fuck is this eurocentric and a bit racist let me refer you to the world happiness rank. The Corruption Perceptions Index and This map of real GDP.

Haven’t you heard? Mexico doesn’t exist it is just drawn on the map to make people think that Canada and The United States are to the rest of the American Continent. Everyone who says they are from Mexico are just paid actors. /s
Also they left out New Zealand, which will not come as a surprise for New Zealanders. They will probably be happy that they are even on the map.

I really appreciate how you completely distilled my life in one comment without any understanding of the context. You basically did the exact same thing. That I was saying I found hurtful in my comment. Thanks

I have been extremely underweight my whole life. As a teen I was 30 to 40 lbs underweight.

First off ground beef, a steak, a whole chicken is not going to have soy filler.
Second most soy found in the process foods is soy lecithin. I don’t know why but I am not allergic to that.
I am very aware of how much soy is used as a filler because I have to avoid it.
- Comment on [Serious] Why do so many people seem to hate veganism? 1 week ago:
I don’t hate vegans. I even dated one for a while. She would eat veggies, I would eat meat. It worked because neither of us were dismissive of the others choice.
I do hate being preached to. I think most people do. Many of my encounters with vegans were ones where they were very hostile to me. For just not being vegan. I wasn’t going around telling them veganism was bad or that they were a terrible person for being vegan. I have been told that by vegans. That I am a bad person for eating meat.
I have to eat meat I have always had a high metabolism. At various times in my life my maintenance diet had to be at least 3,000 calories. Plus of course any additional food needed for non maintenance activities. Additionally I’m allergic to soy. This means that it would be nearly impossible for me to have gotten enough food without eating meat. I am pretty certain that if I had not eaten meat and animal fat. I would have died as a child, or at best had serious issues with nutrition. I was well fed as a child. I could eat as much as I wanted, still many of my memories of childhood were ones of hunger.
I even explained this to someone once and they responded by saying “well you didn’t die” and then heavily implied they wish I did. As if me not dying made my point invalid.
This is why I am skeptical of vegans and vegan ideology. It is often toxic, and actively tries to hurt and shame people. Even people like me who are effectively choiceless in regards to eating meat.
Often even non-militant vegans will allow this behavior. I know how frustrating it can be to be told you need to police your own community. Though that doesn’t mean it’s okay to allow bad behavior amongst your peers.
- Comment on How do passkeys work across devices? 1 week ago:
Read your other comment and I don’t disagree. There are two things that I feel could though have a hiccup. First there is a real possibility that you will not be able to lock your phones. I have never set up face ID on any android I have had, but I don’t see any reference to an auto time out on Android on my phone or any of the setup walkthroughs online. Every manufacturer uses a slightly different build of android so it is hard to say that not Androids has it.
Second it you have a ten digit password as a backup but use face id often the you could forget it. Which would lead many people to use an easy to guess password. Defeating much of the security with a long password has.

Sounds much safer than biometrics.
- Comment on How do passkeys work across devices? 1 week ago:
I would really recommend never using bio metrics on your phone regardless of the context. It is easier to fake that you would want it to be. Also you are legally allowed to not tell the law your password. But they can take your biometrics by force.

Oh never said they were, I just think it important for people to remember how narcissistic autocrats tend to rewrite history so they were always there first, that is their ideas. They are almost always not the founder. They take popular movements/ideas/products, force there way in and then came it was always theirs.
It is a good reminder for when there are modern examples.

It is worth pointing out that the national socialist party existed before Hitler. As Hitler gained power he forced out the true socialist. By the time he was in power there was no more real socialism in the party.

- Comment on car insurance 5 weeks ago:
Sadly it is not really even an imperfect solution. Yes there have been a few departments who lost insurance, but it did nothing to stop the cops responsible for the bad behavior from working as cops, often at the agency who has to take over. Additionally the number of departments shut down is just a drop in the bucket of bad behavior. Lastly this can leave communities without adequate law enforcement.
I have nothing against increasing the cost of bad policing, but this does very little of anything to actually cause change.
- Comment on car insurance 5 weeks ago:
Police departments do carey insurance, and a few rare cases departments have shut down because of being uninsurable.
But do we really want private free market solutions for public problems?
