I think you want to just report the specific posts, and let the mods figure out if they want to take broader action against the account in general

Oh - got it. In that case I don't know but I hope someone gives you a good answer.

When you report a comment it goes to the community moderators, the admins on that community, and if the user is from a different instance, the admins on their home instance.
I believe if you go to their account page and report them, it only goes to the admins of their home instance.

the reporting endpoint is the same, doesn’t matter where you report from.

Yep, what are you using to browse Lemmy? Reporting is built in.

That doesn’t seem to be built into Boost yet. I will just do it from the web portal. Thank you

There’s a report feature for user accounts and for posts and for comments. For user accounts specifically, click on their usename to go to the user details page and select “report user.” On the web interface, it’s just a button. On Jerboa, it’s in a menu that pops up when you click the triple dots button at the top right. I’d imagine most Lemmy clients support that feature.

you can’t report users yet.
there’s an email address for our ticket system in the sidebar of this community.
it’s either that or trying your luck by sending a private message to a random admin. tickets are often a better option.Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Sent thanks

Looks like I need to go to the web portal. Doesn’t seem like Boost has added that feature yet thanks

Afaik, the only way to get anything elevated to an instance admin is to contact them directly. Using the report feature goes to the community mods (and might not even work).
