It’s all about awareness, people have to know there’s an alternative before they can switch.
I didn’t know lemmy existed until I went searching for a reddit alternative.
Soooo… what? Buy ads on reddit? LOL.

Weren’t there trailers for both during the Game Awards? Seems a pretty big confirmation:

One of my favorite stories is from 2011:
“A magazine is an iPad that does not work.”
That baby is now 13, maybe 14 years old.

Store shelver probably.

Where I just ran into trouble is that I’ve been buying the Arrow Video Shaw Scope collections of Shaw Brothers films, 3 sets so far, 4O films total, which would be a lot if we were talking about ANY OTHER studio.
Today I find out Shout Factory has their own line of sets, the 5th of which is out in January. 57 MORE movies.
So I correlated the two, I didn’t want to re-buy multiple movies…
Nope. Between the 40 Arrow releases and the 57 Shout Factory, there is ZERO overlap. 🤯

I find the same thing, but I’m really questioning the taste of others.
Never really did PC gaming, bought a SteamDeck to get into that ecosystem after seeing all the posts about “ZOMG! STEAM SALE!!!”
Are people just… not discerning? Do you just buy ANYTHING because it’s on sale?
The signal to noise ratio on Steam is just nuts to me… Yeah, some game might be $1.99, 90% off, but if it’s not worth the bandwidth to download, why are you bothering? Do you lack the ability to tell good games from bad games?

- Comment on Democrat Mayors Say They Will Use Police To Obstruct Trump's Deportation Of Illegals 2 weeks ago:
The problem there is, they have no intention of limiting it like that.
It will START that way, then it will become “Well, we can’t separate the family because of one criminal… better deport all of them…”
politifact.com/…/in-context-tom-homans-comments-t…
“Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?” correspondent Cecilia Vega asked him.
“Of course there is,” Homan answered, “families can be deported together.”
- Comment on Democrat Mayors Say They Will Use Police To Obstruct Trump's Deportation Of Illegals 2 weeks ago:
It’s a bad look either way. You give in to the knee-jerk deportation movement… and end up paying reparations decades later, or you resist and are breaking federal law.
They’ve set up a lose/lose situation here.

- Comment on Democrat Mayors Say They Will Use Police To Obstruct Trump's Deportation Of Illegals 2 weeks ago:
But… but… all this time the argument has been “We can’t use the police to enforce federal laws!”
Now they want to use the police to block federal law enforcement? 🤔

- Comment on Why are $70 AAA games slashing prices so drastically? 3 weeks ago:
If it were just the Autumn sale, stuff like Space Marines II would have a steeper discount and frankly that sale is more than a little aenemic.
- Comment on Why are $70 AAA games slashing prices so drastically? 3 weeks ago:
Because it’s two years old?
- Comment on Guys, what did you buy during the Steam autumn sale? 3 weeks ago:
Oh, shit, there’s a sale?
Hmmm… old games I already own, games I won’t bother downloading…
Epic Mickey Rebrushed for $30 isn’t bad.
Space Marines II for $47.99 needs a bigger discount… - Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
If your primary gripe is combat, you need to understand it’s not a combat game. It’s an exploration/survival game.

- Comment on Amazon is allegedly canceling orders for the "Megalopolis" Blu-ray release. 4 weeks ago:
It’s definitely worth watching. I can’t say I fully understood it on one watch, the time stopping ability is clearly a metaphor, but I’m not settled on what for yet.
It started with Caesar, then passed collaboratively to his wife, then their baby.
I’ve been thinking about it and I think I have it…
At the start, the Architect can stop time, as an architect, he has the ability to form a lasting, permanent impression on the world around him. His posterity as it were.
Through the film, he loses that level of influence, and similarly loses the ability to stop time.
When he falls in love, he regains a level of influence over his destiny, and so does she. They can stop time together, but not separately.
The film ends with their baby stopping time, as his permanent impact on the world has been transferred to a new generation. Father and mother are frozen in time as the baby moves forward.
