It’s actually fantastic, I haven’t used a gendered public restroom in a year or so now that there are a bunch of single person ones in my area. The ungendered ones are clean and they’re quiet and just better in every way
- Comment on Trans women should use toilets based on biological sex, Phillipson says 2 weeks ago:
Just make real full height stalls so no one has to share the space with anyone and all the bathrooms can be for everyone. The problem is not trans people, it’s bathroom design
- Comment on Understanding the Sex Binary 2 weeks ago:
If a team wants to exclude trans women who consistently outperform their competition, fine, as long as they also exclude cis women who are equally high performers. I don’t think that would be smart, but I also don’t think it’s like morally objectionable. If they want to exclude all trans women regardless of performance and not exclude high performing cis women, then it’s not about fairness, it’s about discrimination.

I also don’t think gendered sports need to exist, just have people try out and be put into classes based on their performance instead of gender. The current system is kind of unfair to everyone because there are some sports that only have one gendered team in a lot of places. Like at my university I think only men can play rugby. I don’t know enough about sports to know how to properly implement a good system, but I’m sure it could be figured out and probably end up making sports more fun for everybody. Either way, strength definitely doesn’t completely follow gender or sex, my friends who are cis women could absolutely beat me up.

Yeah I think that’s a great solution. If you’re comfortable going to the bathroom around other people then you can quickly use the urinal side and be on your way or if you can’t or aren’t comfortable you can use the private side. It’s the best of both worlds
- Comment on Understanding the Sex Binary 2 weeks ago:
Gendered bathrooms are a stupid idea to begin with, no one wants to be in a big room with a bunch of other people going to the bathroom. I only ever use single person unisex bathrooms because they’re cleaner, they’re quieter, I feel safer, etc. I think most other trans people would do the same if they could. If trans people have no choice but to use a gendered restroom, it’s safer for everyone involved if they just go to the bathroom of their actual gender instead of their agab/sex/whatever word you want. But the long term solution that will make both cis and trans people happier is replacing all the stupid gendered bathrooms with private unisex bathrooms.

Go get a hobby instead of just trying to “um actually” people because you don’t like them being happy. I don’t care what your beliefs are, trans people aren’t hurting you so just let people be

Your peripheral vision works better than the center of your vision in low light, that’s why you can sort of see things in the edge of your field of view but not when you directly look at them

Yeah you can only use each piece of information once so you need to constantly discover new obscure facts
- Comment on Hold on! 3 months ago:
If you’re missing the hard drive rails for an iBook G3 (500MHz late 2001, unsure if this is true for other revisions) so you just use some paper to stop the drive from shorting out the motherboard then you need to be careful if the drive tilts towards the front of the laptop because it gets caught on a transistor under the paper and would probably snap it off the board if you pushed too hard.
That’s verifiably true information that’s probably never been posted online before, so all you need to do is verify that it’s true with your own hardware and then prove that it did not exist anywhere before this comment and then you’ll prove I’m not a bot.
This should be how captchas work from now on and someone has to manually verify and approve you I bet that would be super fast and reliable
