Oh, you have that in the UK too?
I hope the US isn’t a preview of times to come.

My Plex server mysteriously quit working and I haven’t had the opportunity to look into it yet. I also want to get immich running and get my pics out of the clutches of Google.

That works for me dude.

And that’s by design too isn’t it? Keep everyone exhausted keep everyone busy keep everyone watching everything and there’s too much for any one person to follow, any group to follow and so if they throw enough at the wall some of it’s going to stick and that’s what they’ve been doing for the past two Trump terms and that’s what they’re going to continue doing.

Dude I feel you it doesn’t take much to be left of the liberals in this country either cuz they’re just just conservativism light!

So, neither of you are wrong. It was used correctly and people are numb to it.
Since they didn’t see stormtroopers at their doors, they figured there’s no real danger. They didn’t see that one group losing rights meant that they didn’t have rights either.
The regime is doing a good job of not terrifying their base and at the same time keeping them brainwashed and inflicting harm on the various outgroups.
What you’re seeing here, I think, is two echo chambers conflicting.

I have a coworker that is not a trumpet and not dispirited. They positively radiate denial. They don’t watch news or keep up on current events. Just a total ostrich.

So, tyrannist? Hmm that’s not catchy. Maybe just autocrat but that doesn’t contain the root of the word tyrannus. Best I got for ya.

Exactly why we are kept busy.

So, here’s my worry. Eventually the fascists will be out of power, but the real power will continue to hold. We’ll be back where we started before my time is up.
The same clandestine/occult powers that have held us back since time immemorial. And to be clear, I’m not talking about anything so easy to target as some illuminati or anything. More like some sort of greedy zeitgeist that permiates generations, classes, culture, and region. For lack of a better term, I’ll call it the dark side of human nature.
It is self organizing, self supporting, greedy, and hungry for power.
Can’t really kill it because everyone has the potential. Can’t say that under (probably vastly) different circumstances, it couldn’t/wouldn’t happen to me.
I dunno the answer.

I get this is just a shit post but this really gets at the unreality that has been manufactured for us. a lack of stability that makes everything just a little bit more unbelievable.

Seriously though, a club sounds nice. Individualism is overrated.

Yeah. The AI search engine is dumb and included at least 1 apart tv, but here are examples perplexity.ai/…/i-m-looking-for-dumb-tvs-A8yqzSZK…
- Comment on If you had to buy a new TV, what brand would you get? 2 weeks ago:
Is look for a hospitality TV or some other dumb tv, at least 120hz refresh, excellent contrast, 4k.

This argues an interesting point. It kind of makes me wonder what happens if the US loses Australia as an ally.
Probably bad right?

Can’t wait till they get the ability to decrypt all the shit we’ve been sending over signal. Shits gonna get real interesting.

Wait, are they doing a Boeing over there at Microsoft? Did they take all of the marketing people and put them in charge? Surely they had people that work there that saw this problem instantly but they were either ignored or they said nothing which says a lot about what they’ve got going on internally at Microsoft.

What will it take for them to finally lose market share?
- Comment on Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracy 4 months ago:
Never tried. I’m a ps guy now, but the point is that there shouldn’t be region codes to begin with.
Anywhere I’ve ever seen a region code to be changeable you only get to change it a certain number of times before you get stuck in a region. This is why you’ll find TBD players that have been firmware flashed to be regionless.

So, this is a basic security principle. If the system of access is too “secure” or too inconvenient, people will create workarounds.
Need keys for all the doors every second of every day? You’ll find duct tape on all the latches.
Password is 15 characters and changes every 60 days? You’re going to find post-its under keyboards.
Spread all digital content across 8 streaming providers that cost about $180/y? Torrent time.
Nintendo wants to brick users for trying to play an out of region game they paid for? They’ll never pay again and will reverse engineering your shit out of spite.
Same thing we saw with the music industry utterly failing to embrace internet distribution. Limewire and bearshare are their fucking lunch.
When will they learn to just make access easy? People, generally, would rather pay than pirate but when you start making shit difficult, nobody wants to play your games anymore and you see massive losses.
Meet your customers where they’re at!
