  Then people wonder why nothing new has come to replace the +50 year old franchises. This whole century is an exercise in monetizing nostalgia; it’s what the lengthening of IP protections paved the way for, and it is sort of stagnating culture.

  Horrible tradeoff from a gaming standpoint. I’m sure numbers show it’ll be wildly profitable and of course they should have done it. We all know tens of thousands of people will happily buy a battlefront 3 as well.

  We had one great Mass Effect trilogy that brought love and hope to so many, I loved it so dear, while I’m sad there won’t be another I’m also so glad we got the trilogy. It’s such a huge part of my life in so many deep personal ways. If that’s the way EA wants to sever my relationship to them, so be it.

    Agreed. These games brought me to gaming after 15 years hiatus, love the trilogy dearly and have been wanting to fully replay it since I never got to play any of the DLC.

      Oh the DLC are phenomenal. Few games get high praise for their DLC but Mass Effect 2 and 3 do. Citadel is the perfect capstone to the trilogy, and if you haven’t played ME3 with Citadel well you are in for a treat

      Well, the previous one wasn’t good and we didn’t have any reason to believe that BioWare did their aftermath homework. So “shitty” might be a too strong word, but the overall idea is quite ok.

    In what way is Mass Effect 5 shitty? Also I do not think that Battlefront 3 would be shitty as well, given the history of Battlefront 2.
