OP, are you just trying to recreate a public bathroom in your home? It’s OK if you are, but in combination with your other meme like this it’s oddly specific lol
Anything less than 1 liters is completely unacceptable

Well look at fancy pants over here with a wife, while I can’t even afford soap…

I just want to point out for a lot of people complaining abojt how often you refill your soap dispenser: consider how much soap you’re actually using.
Most of the world lives in a consumerist, capitalist society. Overconsumption is encouraged by pretty much everything around us. When you see an ad for a product, or even just look at the pictures on the packaging, the people shown using it often use way too much.
Laundry detergent for example. You only need a tiny bit, and studies gave repeatedly shown that thr pods of liquid are waaaaay too much detergent for a load, to the point where it is actually harmful to the washing machine.
Motor oil is another one. If you look on the bottle it probably days to change your oil every 3,000 miles, but if you read your car’s manual it likely says to change it every 10,000 miles, or more.
Toothpaste is another. You should use a pea-sized amou t of toothpaste to brush your teeth, but all of the pictures and artwork and graphics show a toothbrush oveflowing with 5-10 times that amount.
For soap dispenser that you pump, you absolutely do not need to use a full pump of soap to wash your hands. Each dispenser and soap brand is a little different, but with attention and practice you can get a feel for how much soap you actually need to wash your hands. The added benefit is that it saves the time it takes to rinse off all tbe unnecessary soap.

It pretty much solves refilling. It does come with a trade-off, the time it takes to lather.
Madison420@lemmy.world 4 days ago
If a soap is hard to lather the issue is more likely your water than the soap. Hard water makes soap hard to lather and makes soap scum much much more prevalent.

Get these. Life-changing. They’re designed to dispense soap or sauce. Mix them up for a truly exciting life!

Wouldn’t the teats be teeming with bacteria?

Maybe, you can keep your hands clean by suckling directly though.

This is absolutely right.
Our kitchen sink has a soap dispenser. It had this stupid tiny little bottle that you had to refill from the top while you couldn’t see how much was in it so I had to put a flashlight underneath and then lean over while I pour trying not to spill. Screw that.
I bought a kit on Amazon to fix it. You remove the bottle entirely, and then connect to the bottom of the pump a PVC tube with a check valve. On the other end of the hose there’s a bunch of different size lids for whatever brand of soap you have.
Now I buy the soap in bulk, stick the bulk pack under the sink with the hose stuck in it. This runs out about once a year and when it does I just buy another bulk pack and swap it out.
Worth every penny.

Ty! Great tips

This reminds me of a thing, I like to have a pump soap dispenser by the kitchen sink filled with dish soap, so that a quick wash of something is easier.
Anarki_@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 days ago
Allow me to introduce you to a spray bottle with water and a little bit of dishsoap.
vic_rattlehead@lemmy.world 4 days ago
I do this, it’s a game changer not just for dishes but all kinds of cleanup jobs.
S0UPernova@lemmy.world 3 days ago
That does sound good, but it would have to be picked up, and I like just hitting the top to get a little, but that would be good for getting good coverage, and other cleaning, so I will keep this in mind.

Something as trash bins!

Seriously… why refill it so often?!
And you needed to actually EXPLAIN your reason?
Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio 4 days ago
I just keep a gallon jug of fast orange.
eightys3v3n@lemmy.ca 5 days ago
I agree. Why TF do I have to refill the soap every week. Why can’t I refill once a year.
I tried to buy foaming soap because I had to refill less often, but no one offers refills 😡
Zwiebel@feddit.org 5 days ago
The foaming comes from the dispenser, it takes regular soap
eightys3v3n@lemmy.ca 5 days ago
No they don’t take regular soap.
They take a much thinner version of soap so at the very least you would have to take regular soap and experiment to figure out how much to dilute it by and then dilute it before putting it in the foaming dispenser. That’s even more work and potentially messier than just refilling it more often with regular soap.
Yeah my SO and I go through those little bottles. She washes her hands obsessively but even when it was just me, I basically never want to have to refill it. It doesn’t help that we have four different soap dispensers throughout the house at different sinks and for different purposes so it feels like one of them always needs to be refilled.
