They don’t care about anyone but themselves. And playing shit loudly on phones doesn’t bother them so clearly it doesn’t bother anyone else either. Main character syndrome, or something.

Real answer? Because people around them don’t get angry and tell them to stop doing it.

I don’t think you’ll find those people on the Fediverse. You might find them on Twitter.

They probably wouldn’t answer you anyway, because you’re beneath them. People who do that tend to be selfish, narcissistic types who think everyone who is not them and theirs is less than human.

You mean selfish, theseistic types. Theseism is when your pride harms other people. Narcissism is when your pride harms yourself.

It’s common in many countries to do this. Especially on buses. Very annoying to listen to 5 people’s tiktok feed while riding a cramped and rattling bus.

It’s what they learned to do as children. My kids did this until I taught them that it was rude, and to use headphones. Now they are respectful of others.

Ah so the answer is these people are entitled selfish man-children. Makes sense.

They’re the same ones who drive up the shoulder to leapfrog because their time is more valuable than yours.

I’m at an event right now that involved thousands of people queuing to check in with carts of gear in a large hotel atrium. One person walked by with their cart and a stupid JBL Bluetooth speaker blasting music. The main character syndrome some people have is insane.
