    It’s cos a significant majority of the population is on the east coast. 50% in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne alone, before you add the rest of those states. So for economic reasons, it’s convenient for the central states to be a bit closer in time to the eastern states.

    that hasn’t been true for 20 years 🌞 SEQ I’d argue is just as modern as Sydney (SEQ for people not from around here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_East_Queensland)

    Now if we could somehow give FNQ their own time zone then yes I would agree 😅
