  Once shipped an expensive device for an IBM AS/400 back to Canada for repairs. It came back but they switched the power supply to 120 V.

  Germany uses 240 V. There was a lot of smoke.

      That is… very far from the worst that could happen with microwaves, if you have enough juice.
