Another Live service game bites the dust. Sony doesn’t want to learn, it seems.

Once the famous Nostradamus in the year 1569 that
one day a life service videogame called Fairgame$ will release and it will fail.
Nobody understood what he meant back then, because videogames weren’t invented yet. But now it makes perfect sense.

All the fucking idiots in charge of running game companies need to step back, literally fuck their own faces, and then let someone with fresh ideas take over.

I think the big counter example to that is Fortnite. Battle royales were already pretty successful, and then Fortnite (previously a fort zombie defense game) pivoted to a battle royale, and the rest is history.
So it’s hard to say it can’t be done. Certainly most of them are a waste of time.

It’s been the play for a long time that being second or third to market is still lucrative. It’s being any later than that that’s the problem.

“-Likes” could literally be a genre of its own with video games. So many derivatives of something that was original that they don’t even get an actual genre name unless it stays around for like 20+ years lol

Except the extraction shooter genre is one of the hardest to penetrate because there are too many interconnected systems that all have to work together and even the most successful extraction shooters struggle with getting all of the systems to together in perfect harmony.
