that said, The Greens are rising in popularity in the UK. Alas they’ve strayed from what’s important in the search for power

I thought the Coalition switched to Matt Coalvan not this Taylor guy
Zagorath@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Taylor leads the Liberals. Canavan became leader of the Nationals last week. As the senior party of the Coalition, Taylor leads it

His name is Angrass Taylor, and Matt Coalfan would be his deputy if he’s elected PM.

Have we not seen what happened in the US with Trump and the UK with Farage and Brexit? What are they expecting to happen?
Mind you, Labor and the Coalition both keep shooting themselves in the foot, and then reloading a fresh magazine.

It seems extremely easy to dupe people who feel downtrodden by the system. Dupe them into believing a scapegoat (foreigners in this case) is the source of all their problems, and then double down on capitalism, making their problems worse than before…
Labor and the coalition aren’t shooting themselves in the foot - well not on purpose. They’re upholding the status quo, which is capitalism. The second they don’t their sponsors will bail, or they won’t have a cushy job lined up after they’re done in parliament.
I’m kinda worried that we’re about to go way further to the right at the next election

We’ve got mandatory preferential voting, though. It’s much harder for small groups of nutbags to take over, and also there’s no reason to follow the ‘mainstream’ parties if they both decide to march to the right to avoid ‘wasting’ your vote.
People can and should vote according to their beliefs, and then when a party swings away from their voters they lose seats to candidates that better represent the voters.
The Teals are really Liberals that the Liberal party failed to recruit because they’ve moved away from their supporters.
