- Comment on How old is the "world's oldest profession"? 18 hours ago:
i was reading a history of aboriginal tribes in Australia and they said the tribes regularly met for socailsing, to sort out petty grievances and to trade including the women, who used the opportunity to “trade” genetic diversity. The book seem’d to suggest this was both necessary (as in part of the trade) and at the women’s discretion of cock choice.
Difficult to say if this occured for the 60,000 years or so the’d been in Australia but can’t see why not ?
sont know if that’s really prostitution, all seems blurred to me.
pity we’re no longer as sophisticated :(

No, you must use a turnip, not a steak. This is a common misunderstanding

I actually think our current legal immigration rules are too strict.
which is why they do it “illegally”. It’s a little like drugs, making it more illegal wont stop it.
- Comment on Record 128 people cross Channel in one small boat 1 week ago:
ex pats ? whatever term you use is a subset of migrants … they’re still people moving and looking for a better life, so they are migrants.

My understanding is Tongerlongeter’s push back and the war in Tasmania led the British to reconsider their strategy and be a touch more progressive in NZ when the Maroi started kicking off

120yrs ago, yeah CO2 emissions will be a problem in the decades to come
50 years ago, yeah emissions will be a problem in decades to come, including heatwaves that will damage infrastructure and kill poeple
30 years ago, yeah emissions will be a problem in decades to come, including heatwaves that will damage infrastructure and kill poeple
10 years ago, yeah emissions will be a problem in decades to come, including heatwaves that will damage infrastructure and kill poeple
this year, how about that heat, if only we’d been warned /s
it very likey that if we’re not near emission system by 2030/2035 (not net zero bullshit) then we’ll end civilization in the decades to come as there is no coming black from the increasing tipping points. Strat with bannibg all private jets.
It appears that Europe does many things right for sustainability and climate change
as long as this sort of bullshit is prevalent in the zeitgeist then nothing changes.
As to doing something ? vote green (not to get the Greens into power per se but to move the Overton Windows) , don’t fly, don’t drive.
What we’ll do instead is normalise out stupidity as we go fascist and keep on keeping on, like we do with inequality, hunger, homelessness, war erc
